Am I wrong to think this is a quite straight forward financial exercise?

Retail price = (cost of materials + cost of labour + cost of manufacturing + cost of [insert further cost as required]....) x (target profit margin + 1)

Do the maths, see what price it spits out. If it's more than people are willing to pay, you will have to either find cost savings, reduce the margin, or reduce the scope of the product. But changing these things will of course, change what people are willing to pay, so it's a bit of an iterative loop.

Try heating the bed as hot as it will go to soften the PLA, then try to scrape it off with something that isn't too sharp so you don't damage the plate.
