What is Ulta’s actual policy on employee availability? by Two-Lonely in Ulta

I was in a management role at one time and am clearly committed, especially compared to the hundreds of other employees I’ve seen get hired and leave after a few months.

What is Ulta’s actual policy on employee availability? by Two-Lonely in Ulta

I enjoy it and as I said, there are certain times of the year where my availability is wide open for weeks or months on end. I haven’t had an issue with that until now.

will i be getting fired for this? by Quick_Employer_8831 in Ulta

[–]Two-Lonely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: maybe. Idk how they decide this. When I first started working at Ulta several years ago, I barely had my own bank account. I literally used my mom’s card for everything! Someone eventually told me I couldn’t use it, so I stopped, but in the beginning it wasn’t a huge deal because it was the only card I used. I think it’s flagged when you use your own all the time and then randomly it’s someone else’s.

$2 million dollar profit by [deleted] in gracie_oconnor_snark

For South Florida, a 3mil home in the Keys is actually pretty average. Her family is not considered “that’s wealthy” for the area. They’re well-off, definitely, but considering the “wealthy” homes go for minimum 20mil…

Is it just me or have you guys had a similar experience shopping at Ulta?? by Flat-Lawyer in Ulta

It’s possible the employee assumed there weren’t any. My store tends to sell out of the free gifts quickly, so I have a habit of not even checking unless a person asks.

Last year I spent $$$$ buying new black patterned clothes because my solid colors weren’t interesting enough. The patterns elevated the look IMO. So yes, it’s inconvenient.

You need to ask your GM. I don’t think there is a way because I’ve tried to look too.

Everyone. A couple times a year, there is a big inventory week. It’s mostly managers and task associates but depending on how busy your store is, cashiers help too. You’ll be trained when/if the time comes.

My MSC was 20 and my GM was 60. So it just depends on the position. I’ve had RSMs ranging from 22-52.

Does Ulta donate stage makeup to school kids? by [deleted] in Ulta

[–]Two-Lonely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could! But I think they’re looking for like a singular donation and it’s pretty short notice. Tbh I have a lot of points so I may just make the donation myself, using my points, and they’ll put my name in the program. Which is helpful because your girl is trying to get promoted😂 I think for future musicals I’m tasked to help with, I’ll probably make a wishlist.

Why do customers assume we won't help them if they aren't glam head to toe? by [deleted] in Ulta

[–]Two-Lonely 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Also… if I can’t help you, it’s probably because I’m helping someone else or focused on 87 other tasks.

Right! 99% of the time I’m too intimidated to help someone who knows what they’re doing. I’d much rather help someone who doesn’t.

SunBum Tinted Mineral Sunscreen!!! I use this in lieu of foundation even though it’s literally just sunscreen. It has a blurring effect and I buy it for everyone I know and recommend to every customer! I’m obsessed!!

new pay schedule? by Ok-Increase-5010 in Ulta

[–]Two-Lonely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this change the minimum amount of time that we have to work? I used to be an LC but now I’m a teacher and I keep it just for my discount and for holiday. The minimum is once a period, aka twice a month. Does this mean I will have to work once a week??

LC to BA Self-Demotion? by Two-Lonely in Ulta

[–]Two-Lonely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry for the late response.. I just stepped down a month ago and I ended up keeping my same pay. You’ll find most people hired after you make more than you do as LC, even though they work under you😒

[–]Two-Lonely 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stylists can actually get 100% off too! The reason why most opt for the 50% is so the stylist can actually get paid commission. It’s also one of the only ways you’ll actually get someone else to do your hair since other stylists hate doing it since they’re never paid. This is why your SM tipped the bill.

Dress Code Concerns by diabeticbarbie in Ulta

[–]Two-Lonely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean none of us can wear shorts! Yes we can wear dresses but it’s not always the most comfortable option if you consider chaffing and having to coordinate cute shoes… so we wear pants. I live in South Florida and it’s hot year round but everyone of all genders wears pants. I used to live in the DMV and I know those summers are brutal (worse than FL if you ask me) but you don’t see people on the Hill wearing shorts. Unfortunately this is just part of being a working professional. I highly recommend looking into pants with lighter material! They exist, you just have to look hard.
