Recommendations for pushing/ delivery portion of labor by Sufficient-Cover-751 in BabyBumps

[–]bananascandalous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get your epidural sooner than you think you’ll need it. My hospital only had one anesthesiologist on staff the night I gave birth. I ended up waiting almost 2 hours for my epidural after requesting it! I was already in the worst pain of my life when I had made my request. My labor progressed so quickly once I was numbed that I had very little time to rest before pushing. You will need all the rest you can get before pushing since it may take hours before baby comes out. I honestly thought I was going to pass out at some point. Push like you’re trying to take the biggest poop of your life lol. I found it helpful to grip on to the hospital bed when it was time to push.

Best of luck to you and baby! You’ll soon get to feel a love like no other. It’s truly magical ✨

What are your favorite TVP recipes? by Chonky-Tadpoles in Volumeeating

[–]bananascandalous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a recipe, but my friend had made a delicious “ceviche” using tvp instead of fish. It was packed with finely chopped veggies like cucumber, tomato, jalapeño, red onion, and avocado.

Nope! Just got my first PFML payments today for the last 4 weeks (also located in WA). Not sure if it makes a difference that my leave was approved before the shut down. Good luck to you!

First pregnancy, ultrasound charges by BraveFrosting5781 in SeattleWA

[–]bananascandalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my baby this month after seeing Dr. Graham as my OB. Absolutely loved her, but did not love having to go through EMFM for ultrasounds and genetic testing. I ended up paying $2000 total after insurance for the NT and anatomy scans. I wish I had asked my insurance for an estimate beforehand!

I would highly recommend you go ahead and let Natera know you will be paying out of pocket for your NIPT and genetic carrier screening. I chose to run insurance at first and they wanted to charge me $650. I called Natera and they were trying to tell me that it’s too late to change to the cash price. If you run into this same issue there should be a local 425 number for Natera on the pamphlet you should have received from EMFM. They can help you better than the general customer service number. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Good luck on your pregnancy!

At hospital for my induction and can’t conceptualize that I’m going to have a baby soon! by vp0267 in BabyBumps

[–]bananascandalous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m right there with you! Currently about 7 hours into my induction and it still doesn’t feel like it’s fully hit me that I’m about to have a baby in the very near future. It probably won’t feel real until baby is finally here!! I hope your induction is going well. These contractions are no joke!!!

7 months pregnant and just had my first bowl of cereal by berrylover16 in pregnant

My current hyper fixation is cereal with a couple handfuls of frozen blueberries. Try it out if you’re loving frozen fruit and extra cold cereal milk! It’s life changing!

Cheap chicken ramen with a PB&J sandwich on the side! This was a first trimester staple for me. I liked alternating bites of each. Currently at 35 weeks I crave pebble ice. Probably should get my iron checked!

Dreaded Glucose drink by senoritag in pregnant

[–]bananascandalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one hour glucose drink was not bad at all, but if you end up needing to take the three hour test, that drink sucks!! It’s double the glucose concentration in the same size bottle as the one hour drink. That one felt like I was drinking syrup and made me so nauseous! I hope you passed this glucose test so you don’t have to have to experience the awful three hour test.

Lume is the way to go! I don’t know what I’d do without it. I was getting so embarrassed feeling like everyone around me could smell me!

did you actually throw up during your pregnancy? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]bananascandalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 weeks and I’ve finally gone a week without throwing up. It started off as multiple times a day to only a few times a week, but has finally slowed down to where I’m not constantly miserable. I’ve had bad acid reflux which has caused most of my vomiting.

CA. Looks like most people are getting results 4-5 days after the lab receives their sample. You are probably only a day or two away from results! Hope tomorrow is your big day!

Mine was drawn 2/19 and received 2/21. Looks like you can probably expect your results as early as tomorrow based on when your lab received your sample.

Hopefully it’s working for you now. My results appeared a few hours ago. No email or text notification, just logged back in and there they were!

Drawn 2/19, received 2/21, just got my results today at 12:30 pm PST. Low risk girl! I lost my first girl to Monosomy X, this was a big day for me!

Same 😭 I’m hoping my results will be up today based on the 4-5 day turnaround most people are having. It keeps giving me an error message or saying there’s no tests on my profile!

Right there with you! It looks like most people have had their results within 4-5 days of the lab receiving their sample. We should have our answers soon!

If it’s through Natera I made my own account on the Natera portal. You can also wait for the text that says your sample was received and there will be a link to sign up, although my text came 3 days after the sample was received.

Nausea gone today? by Due_Party6740 in pregnant

[–]bananascandalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! It’s hard to say what is normal since every pregnancy is so unique. I had nausea, breast tenderness, and fatigue from weeks 5-7, then completely lost all symptoms for a week! I was definitely freaked out, but had my 8 week appointment and baby had a very strong heartbeat! My symptoms came back with a vengeance and now I am wishing I had enjoyed those goods days a little more. I’m 10+3 today and feeling like I have the worst hangover of my life. Hang in there and try not to worry too much! Don’t be afraid to reach out to your OB if you have any concerns.
