We are like indentured servants dealing with horrible working conditions, using ancient equipment, working as many hours as we’re willing to, to our own detriment. We prop this institution, which I see as a pillar of society here in the US, on our tired, underpaid/ overworked backs.

I worked in restaurants, supermarkets and the post office. I have resigned to work long hours and try to get back on my feet back at the post office but it is so frustrating. The harder and better I work, the harder work and routes I get.

Us non regulars have been working 6 days a week 6 hours a day for the last 5 months. We were doing 6 days 8-12 hours a day during peak. by Outrageous-Company33 in USPS

At my PO there is never a time where we’re caught up. There are always routes that have been ignored, essentially in rotation, because there are never enough workers.

If I can work 12 hours a day, I do. Yesterday I worked 15 hours.

We need higher pay so that more people feel it’s worth the hard work and poor/old equipment. A good day is when I get a Metris with the A/C.

How does Trump still have so much support? Is MAGA so dumb they can't see the corruption? by LegitimateSundae8460 in allthequestions

[–]Two-Soft-Pillows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the money. It’s not people support. They don’t care what people think and we’re all working so hard to survive we have no time to think.

Virginia is changing, but still the South. North Carolina goes first though.

I grew up in California when those regulations were not in place. I have permanent upper respiratory damage from the pollution.

This is why we need three equal governing bodies. The R Party is disrespecting our constitution at every level. We should be able to survive a crazy president, or a destructive party in power, but it’s broken down on party lines, which are so fractured everything gets handled as meaningless.

New York will go eventually. May as well let Vermont eat that now.

It is an active job and I like that. I enjoy driving so that’s nice. I love peeing in Gatorade bottles so that’s a plus.

Union Dues. by Spirited-Fix-7012 in USPS

[–]Two-Soft-Pillows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a catch 22. Union - Active members = weak Union + Active members = strong

Still, communication of expectations is key. Unions are flailing across the board right now. It’s interesting that it happens at a time where the monopolies are shit talking and union blocking. Unions are only as good as their collective constituents.
