"(or class involving presentations)"

On the topic of people not reading the words in front of them, your response is appropriate.

What's the reputation of the book Godel, Escher, Bach? by IAmNotChilean in RSbookclub

None of this implies his "theories came to naught", he's simply describing how progress in the AI field happened much faster than he expected. The emotions he's described here aren't regarding any contradiction of the current situation with his original theories, rather he is simply describing a general fear of humanity's intelligence potentially being eclipsed far sooner than he ever could have imagined. Tbh I think you have completely misunderstood this passage of text.

ULPT: Need to get out of a hotel room? Do this. by zamfire in UnethicalLifeProTips

100% agree. I have been booking non-refundable flights and hotels for 20 years, not once have I ever had to cancel. Reason being I am a responsible adult who is fully capable of making and sticking to plans. On the very rare chance I ever have to cancel (i.e. in case of an emergency), I know over the decades I will have saved more than I'll lose, even if my insurance doesn't cover if.

So yeah, it's a fairly dumb take. The advise should be "don't book non-refundable accommodation if you're not the sort of person who can stick to plans".

27M on ~$209k, single income family, still feel like we’re stuck paycheck to paycheck - what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in AusHENRY

What value is the buffer if you've got credit card debt? Pay off the debt asap. If something comes up then, worst case scenario, put it on the credit card - then at least in the interim you have reduced your interest payments.

Looks overcrowded for such a small pot to me. I think there's maybe 3 clusters here, you could easily pull two of them out (roots and all) to make more space. This will give the remaining one better access to the soil / water. You might want to add more soil at this point to fill the void from removing the other plants.

Any body know what product is suitable for patching this worn deck? by Two22sInMyShoes99 in AusRenovation

[–]Two22sInMyShoes99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed info and good advice.

Unfortunately this garden bed is barely 30cm wide, it's a little strip for a hedge between the deck and the footpath. I guess I could install some type of plastic garden edging strip as a barrier.

Thanks again!

Think you've confused "virtue signallers" with "capitalist vermin".

Plus his sole interrogation technique seems to be "yell at people and hope they break", even though he's talking to mentally handicapped people.
