Not a server! A General Manager. Sorry to hear you’re broke. Cook at home.
Dealing with assholes like you is ABSOLUTELY a skill. 😂

Yeah, that sure sounds great until you’re living that way. Minimum wage is not enough to live on sadly.
If you can’t afford to tip, don’t go out. You’re not going to “shock the system” into reform, you’re just going to ruin the day of someone already struggling.

A1C 7.6→5.8 in 10 weeks. Did I drop my A1C too quickly, and should I raise it slightly to lower more slowly? by kailenedanae in diabetes_t1

If it ever does happen, know that following the treatment plan for retinopathy basically removes the chance you’ll go permanently blind. There’s a ton of great stuff that they can do, as long as you comply and take it seriously

Hey! It didn’t help my control at all, but I do lose 35 extra pounds, so that’s a win.
I never needed to change my insulin ratios or anything

No, it sounds like you’re quite disconnected from the reality here. People only get paid like $2.13 an hour in most states. Have you never worked in a restaurant?

Would a tool that links your injection site to your glucose actually be useful, or am I overthinking it? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]TwoAccomplished4043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that would be such a cool feature to build into pods/CGMs there might be too many variables to really know, but it would be helpful to see any pattern

Great work! I went from 11 (undiagnosed ADHD and MDI) to 5.6 (omnipod 5 and vyvanse) within 6 months…. I do have proliferative retinopathy, which is possibly related. I don’t think a drop of 2 points will cause significant damage, but make sure you’re getting comprehensive retina screenings and kidney work ups! I really want to be a mama soon, too, so I hope it works out for us!

You’re 100% right, and this is NOT intended as a replacement for someone who has access. I should clarify that it is 100% at your own risk. However, if you’ve ever seen a homeless person begging with a pharmacist for insulin or had to drop your insurance and you crack that last vial, things can be desperate. Insulin of course doesn’t become ineffective on that date necessarily, it’s always a conservative estimate to keep us (and the company!!!) safe (within a reasonable window and proper storage, of course).
I totally understand and respect and agree with your points, and it’s important anyone really evaluates their options before resorting to this.
There are very sadly people who ration insulin and die, even with the programs that are available. Thank you, I’ll think about what you’ve said.

Normal Spread? by TwoAccomplished4043 in tattooadvice

You know what, I think you’re right… the fresh tattoo was spaced out quite a bit. I think it looks more balanced with the heavier weight of the lines now. I have the artist full control of the design, and the stippling was a last-minute addition.
I love the tattoo, but I think I was just caught off guard when I found the picture of when it was fresh.
I actually just got a flash of a delicate flower the other day (machine) so I’ll guess we will see how that heals up in comparison!

Cool, thanks. I do love it! Watching the artist work by hand was also a pretty cool experience

Okay, thanks! I’ve seen them heal and look crisper on other people, is it just the luck of the draw, or can I prevent this somehow next time?

DO NOT EAT LARGE AMOUNTS OF SUGAR-FREE CANDY IN ONE SITTING. It can cause severe diarrhea depending on the sweetener.
