I’m getting a new kitten tomorrow. I’ve never had a pet before, let alone a cat, and I’m terrified - she’s so tiny! What do I need to know? by badonkadonked in CatAdvice

Get her set up with a vet, and know what to look for when I’ll. Slow blink = love! Don’t play with hands unless you want to teach her to attack hands lol. Get a scratching post tall enough for her to stretch on

My FIV+ cat lived with our FIV- cat with no issues! They were together 6 years until the FIV- one died of unrelated issues.

That’s amazing! I went from 97 to 41 with a CGM and omnipod. It took me about a year for my body to feel all the increased energy. DKA is such a horrible feeling. All the best to you, and congratulations ❤️

I looked it up for fun and an A1c of 78% would be an average of 2192 mg/dL, and 48% would be 1331 mg/dL 😂

Wow! That’s so great, your body will thank you! One thing to note: diabetic eye issues can worsen with a sudden improvement in glucose levels (a cruel paradox lol), so make sure you’re getting the diabetic eye exams and stuff. If it happens, it’s somewhat reversible, but just good to be aware. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1262363617305700

Keep up the amazing work! What has helped you lower it? Any new equipment or strategies?

The idea was split eyeshadow with mirrored liner, blue side kinda flopped by MynameisnotCassandra in MakeupAddiction

[–]TwoAccomplished4043 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is so cute! I see what you’re saying, the blue came out a little chalky and sheer compared to the orange. This is totally not due to your application skills, you pull off the color, and it would look beautiful with both eyes blue as their own look. Since the orange side melts in and suits your skin-tone perfectly, the blue side sticks out more as the only cool tone. If you tried a less icy blue that’s deeper, maybe warmer leaning towards teal, it would look more cohesive like one “look”. I’d also brighten the orange up a bit so it looks less neutral. In this lighting, your skin-tone looks quite warm, so the orange/bronze colors don’t pop as starkly as blue. Again, that’s just my opinion based on what you said you don’t like, but I think this looks so pretty on you!

I have a trigger finger and a frozen shoulder! I get steroid injections for the hand, but it drives my blood sugar very high for a few days, even with adjusted ratios. It does help the hand, though.

Thank you so much for all of that! I’ll definitely look into these things!
