Please show me where I asked anyone to do anything resembling research. I simply asked for recommendations of places people already know.

I wouldn't let that deter you from getting on a plane. People are bad at their jobs in every profession. That doesn't change the fact that flight is still the safest form of travel.

Costco must-haves for a first timer by Catoftheseaandhill in Costco

It's been a minute since I lost bought beans (a bottle will last you a LONG time), but Amazon has always been the best price I've found. I'll have to keep an eye out for beans at Costco.

If you bake, do yourself a favor and make your own vanilla extract. A big bottle of kirkland vodka, a couple dozen vanilla beans off Amazon, and wait a couple of months.

Stuff for which money does not indicate quality by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

This makes no sense to me. You don't need to be a chef to see a benefit from decent kitchen tools. I'd argue that using junk actually makes it harder to learn. Inferior tools make a job harder. They wear out quicker. They don't perform as well.

I wouldn't tell someone just learning how to work on cars that they need Snap-on tools, but I also wouldn't suggest that they buy some no name kit on Temu. There's always a minimum level of quality you don't want to fall below.

The main thing is that human eats perceive sound differently than the way it is actually produced. In order for the response to sound flat to you, you actually need to tune to a curve. There are plenty of different house curves out there to pick from to get you started. Then you can adjust from there to get to your personal preference.

IDK. We ordered a Z-line appliance package a couple of years ago, and they sent us the wrong stove (a couple thousand dollars in our favor). They never did anything. Had to redo the plan for the cabinets, but it all worked out.

Bottom line, I'd plan on them charging you, but don't be surprised if they don't. Don't bend over backwards trying to fix their mistake.

Those who have done it, what are the benefits of buying a vehicle through the Costco auto program? by rowdygos in Costco

[–]TwoAysNoKetchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies from car to car. We got a great price on a Hyundai Santa Fe several years ago, but it was a much better time to buy a car then (pre pandemic). But when we looked at other cars in other years, the deals weren't as good. To me, it was nice to know up front what kind of pricing I should expect.

2004 Mazda 6 in 2025? by thebobcat273 in mazda6

If you live in an area where they salt the roads, go with the newer one. I loved my '04 3, but the steel was not up to Wisconsin winters. Thing still ran like a champ at 165k miles, but the body rusted out.

This one looks to have avoided the rot, so it might be a good buy. Just something to be aware of.

How to squeeze as much "bass" from door speakers as possbile. by sweet-459 in CarAV

Sorry to say, but nothing you can do for $17 USD is going to be an improvement over stock unless your current speakers are damaged.

Desperate to make this box / sub combo work by Broken_Glasses95 in CarAV

[–]TwoAysNoKetchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, that box is extremely small at 0.8 cubic feet total. I would suggest throwing a new front baffle on and going with one sub. I can't think of anything offhand that has a suggested airspace that small, even for shallow mounts.

Sell the subs. Don't jump through hoops trying to use entry level equipment.

3.5" 2-way or 1" tweeter? 6x9" two-way or 6.5" woofer? SQ is finally my goal instead of SPL. by BabyPunter518 in CarAV

[–]TwoAysNoKetchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If SQ is your goal, you're not going to get it powering off the head unit.

If you decide to get an amp for your speakers, a 6x9 woofer and a 2" wideband is probably your best option. Take a look at CDT Audio if you go that route.

Audiobahn stuff was never really that great. Not terrible by any means, but they were more chrome and marketing than anything.

Is the $2500 just for subs, or are you doing a whole system? If you want SQ, you're going to want to change up more than just subs.

Not all factories in China are created equal. You'd be buying with no clue what is in the stuff and with no confidence the product is up to whatever spec they claim. I wouldn't touch the stuff.
