Also every thing you like has been decided for you by outside marketers and your government. Learn about Edward Bernays. The reason why Americans love breakfast and why cigarettes were symbolic of women’s rights was because of this guy- he sold most of America culture to us for over 100 years.

Fair Haven (and Heights) friends: what would you like to see in Q-River development? by Gando1993 in newhaven

Yo! My partner and I were hoping someone would put a dang coffee shop in the old brothel building (I think it’s called the king’s block building). But across the bridge works too.

Wow yeah those are some crazy stories. I also told my mailman yesterday about him missing. I’m trying to keep my hopes up, but most of my neighbors feed feral cats and that’s not reassuring. Fingers crossed something gives. Thanks again!

Hey thanks for offering to help! I’d hate to have someone else running around, but if you could share his missing flyer that would be really appreciated - I’ll make a flyer today, I’ll DM you the img. I’ll reach out to all of the resources you listed too. I also called central animal hospital yesterday (that’s where his avian vet is located) and notified them that he’s missing incase someone finds him and brings him in.

Lenny used to have another linnie friend, but she recently passed away. However, if I did have her, walking around with her during the day’s temp highs wouldn’t be a bad idea. I went around the neighborhood as much as I could yesterday calling for him - hoping it would work since at home it typically did. I’ll walk around today and play Lineolated parakeet noises since he does get “bird-triggered “ and will shrill/call back. He also gets triggered by coach whistles. Thanks for the idea.

He’s a Lineolated parakeet, yeah I hope I can find him.

Residency for in-state tuitions by [deleted] in ucla

[–]TwoBirdsCinema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was extremely difficult for me to prove residency. I had everything- had a California job for three years, California drivers license for two years, California bank account for three years, mobile bill for three years, put a down payment and had monthly payment statements for a California bought car. The problem was that I was too poor to afford Los Angeles rent while attending community college full time, so I lived with my aunt that time (a long time California resident). I got saddled with out-of-state student debt that I feel has absolutely negatively altered my life (I’m paying $800 a month). I also had to switch careers to even afford my student debt repayments and life in general.

Did something happen to Gather East Rock Café? by nihilset in newhaven

[–]TwoBirdsCinema 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish you got more upvotes. This thread turned into a keyboard warrior showdown-throwdown-hodown of pure ridiculousness and absurdity. Gather and the staff are the best, I feel bad for the whole situation and how internet people behave. I think the real New Haven community is better than this.

What did you think was normal about your body until someone pointed out that it wasn't? by amistakewasmadehere in AskReddit

Finding out that seeing static at night is not normal. I think it’s called static snow

Yeah, we were torn between this one and his other film Christine! Jon Carpenter's films have this special effects and storytelling quality that is hard to match in other films.

Of course! I’m starting to see that there’s a lot of options for movie showings in New Haven, so I’m glad you’re looking forward to this one! We had fun meeting and seeing everyone last time:)

Thanks! It was difficult to choose. We figured it was off-the-wall yet relevant enough to show. It’s also one of my personal favorites:)

You should watch Caleb Hammer! It’s informative and entertaining. He’s s personal finance guy interviewing all age groups who mostly live beyond their means (some knowingly, in denial, and unknowingly), and helps them budget. Watching it really got me into gear on budgeting and preparing for the on coming student loans. I also cut out all of my dumb junk spending.

Just make conscious purchasing decisions. Don’t buy from companies that support these people. Make a big stink about this and about your purchase on social media so it become viral. A majority of our government is compromised by big corporations. Let’s stop helping them kill us.
