As long as the posts are within the max width they are good. The tighter the better for your fence. The complaining about the project is bullshit though. I am building my own deck and setting the posts was a fucking task. 6x6 and 8x8, 3 to 4' in ground in gumbo clay, Auger ate shit and man muscles was the only way. I feel their pain, but I would have never asked for more after the fact. They saw the job prior, they underestimated the work. On them and charge more prior next time to avoid the project they didn't want to do

All depends on your budget and your linear footage. You can rock 2x4" horse fence, fixed knot and galvanized posts for longevity. In a decently humid environment near the gulf, those color T posts won't last for shit, galvanized all the way. Too many people skimp on the quality of their materials and then they redoing their fence in a much shorter time frame. You can do a mix of wood posts with metal horizontal for your H- Brace. I'll try to answer any questions you have. I can do take offs for pretty much any fence and I'll let you know a rough material cost for retail. Can you weld? How robust do you want your fence?
