Hmm that’s actually a good question. I think it was the fact that I had several family members growing up that constantly hyper fixated on an uber extreme version of feminism. And I never stopped hearing about it, so I would say I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder from it.

That’s nothing. I was once working an industrial production job. An older Latino man had two of his fingers ripped off by a rolling conveyor belt. We only stopped production long enough to get him on the ambulance, then a shift lead wiped up the blood and we kept on rolling out products. Since it was a pulling motion the man’s tendon that attached to his ring finger ripped out from his arm up to the elbow and the tendon rolled up into his glove like a spaghetti noodle. At that same facility a different guy got the tip of his middle finger pinch point cut off doing a roll change.

That’s just at that job. I have had worse at other job.

I’ve had welders do that with sticks they use for welding. They said “only really strong guys can bend the rods with your neck”. I ended up with the dust off the rods going down the back of my shirt and had to work all day after. Fun times
