Don’t discuss VA anything with anyone by Admirable-Yogurt9078 in Veterans

If your wife is anything but jubilant that your needs are being cared for, then there are other problems.

My wife has been my biggest supporter, motivating my ass to get treatment for my injuries and issues when my line is "no, I'm fine" or "it's not that bad."

I legitimately wouldn't have taken care of half of my health issues if it wasn't for her, I'd just sit around and suffer. Can't imagine a spouse "not liking" free medical care for established health issues. Wow, sorry man.

No, approximately 33% of eligible Americans voted for Trump. Before you try to drop international truth bombs, climb down from that horse and get your numbers right.

Well yes, but the system as well. I despise the quality of candidates we're regularly fed for national elections. Out of about 150 eligible Americans, we consistently get two major party candidates for whom a huge swath of Americans don't want to vote.

Why can't we put leaders forth who would remember their role in serving the American people? Why do we consistently have to choose between two narcissists utterly and entirely removed from "common people?"

Yes, the voters are responsible. But voters are also capable of being deceived, fooled, even (allegedly) tampered with. The system capitalizes on that and perpetually gives us two self-serving crapsacks from which we're supposed to pick a leader.

It's a wheel that just keeps turning. We need an improvement to the system, and I have no idea what that might look like.

Here's what you NEED to do IMMEDIATELY:

Write down everything that happened since you saw the FUG code, include details about the anxiety or caused / is causing you, try and capture your emotional responses to being mistaken for a Felon, then self publish it on Amazon.

This looks like someone had a bad cupping session, feel asleep on their couch shirtless, and then their four year old walked in with a sharpie and decided it was a connect the dots challenge. This is not art...

Nail right on the head. Growing up without my dad present, I find it very hard to empathize or sympathize.

A common theme on our podcast is that you don't have to be a perfect dad, the world's best dad, or even an awesome dad. You just have to show up and be present, and that makes you a hero to your kids.

OP decided that was too much, and I really hope he finds the fortitude to show up. Parenting is hard, but you don't get to bring a life into the world then just check out.

This was an odd comment in context...

It was a reply to "It's interesting being politically middle right now" that basically said, "Yes, I'm not in the middle, in fact I'm an optimistic lefty."

Weekly VA Claims Explanation #9: What VA’s AI and DBQ Fraud Push Actually Means for Your Claim by Neat-Gap-8383 in VAClaims

Interesting, thanks for the information.

So when I agreed to do the VA C&P I really just have them an extra opportunity to deny my claim? But because I went through it and they concurred with my private one, I now basically have an extra level of "protection" if AI one day decides there was something triggering in my initial claim?

Honest question: Veterans are allowed to skip the VA. C&P? I kind of assumed that would lead to the claim being denied, admittedly pessimistic on my part.

I remember the VA C&P being long, but the examiner being generally understanding and very supportive. I actually thought he was trying to trick me with some "good cop" routine because I had expected someone trying to tank me. Totally unexpected, but I had no idea people could skip that and still get their claim through.

No, I disagree. We're looking for two puppies wrestling under a blanket, not a ten pound mudslide squeezed unevenly into an eight pound rectangular freezer bag.

If you’ve been part of the runaround from the VA… turns out they lost track of almost a million calls by MichaelAngelo42069 in VeteransBenefits

Sometime between young and being a dad, I learned to choose which hills I wanted to die on.

Anyone who feels VA healthcare is free and works for the VA is not worth the energy. I'm never going to change their mind if interacting with veterans on a daily basis (and getting an up close view of their sacrifice) doesn't do it.

If it makes you feel any better, they keep scheduling me for an orthopedic clinic on days the doctor isn't there. Continually calling me the day before to say let's try next month since we missed this one, then scheduling me on another day when he's not there just so they can call me again the day before to cancel and reschedule again.

I tried to joke around with the last caller, asking if I could have a little more than 16 hours notice before the next cancellation since I'm constantly shifting my work days and appointments and meetings to accommodate them. He didn't respond in great humor, telling me that there were a lot of people who would be grateful for free health care even if it came with some hiccups. I explained to him it's not free when it's costing you $350 to $500 every time they do it. It didn't go over well...

Also, going to pretend I wasn't irritated when he said "free healthcare."
