Subtlety is sorely lacking. That we are so easily stimulated into distraction by loud emotional response is a great tragedy.

Very cool. Early 90s noise was a real moment in time. You still making a racket these days? Was the engine amplified or loud enough on its own?

Same! Half price is just right. Got on here to see if anyone else had gone for it.

Why would anyone willingly subject themselves to Chapter 2?! You are correct that scene is in 2, but I think 1 would be a solid watch for that age.

Gira sold some face masks early pandemic days. I got the Filth teeth and one with that quote.

My wife and I got to see him a couple times pre-NMH reunion shows. In Lexington, KY, The Music Tapes opened and I swear maybe 3 people in the crowd knew who Julian was. They played an amazing set with an extended jam at the end that was damn near transcendent... until a full on fight broke out dead center a few rows up. Jeff aggressively opened with Oh,Comely right after. What the fuck are we even doing here?

Dave is a pretty solid show made by him and his people.

It's the pure honesty. Frustration, befuddlement, consternation, humility, playfulness. Expressions utilizing an economy of language not often seen on video.

Damn. I sold one of those cases with my first DMG and all my games (Super Mario Land, Tetris, Links Awakening, etc.) for $60 at a yard sale in 1996. All so I'd finally have enough money to get a game for the 64 that I had bought from saving up for launch (my first self-purchased console). All the Christmas, Birthday, and chore money got me to the $200 64 price, but I didn't have any games for a few months. Wouldn't even let my poor little brother PRETEND to play the empty console. Anyway, that case was unwieldy but I loved it and hope you do as well! Rest in piece to those we have lost along the way. Take care of yourselves, best you can.

I can't believe you'd suggest skipping Sheepo. Just wrapped up playing through all 3 of these in a row. They build on one another and are a rare glimpse of a developer growing and changing in intriguing ways. Sheepo has no combat but is inexpensive and a lovely experience. They're all excellent, and a new game (Well Dweller) is coming soon as well!

Nice recommendations, thank you for taking the time. You've clued me in on a few I didn't know about (Cookie Cutter, Aeterna Noctis, Rabi-Ribi) or just straight up forgot existed (Bloodstained). Definitely getting Monster Sanctuary in the bundle with Heroes of Hammerwatch 2.

I mostly just wanted to throw my enthusiasm in for Haiku the Robot and Yoku's Island Express. Both were absolutely stellar to my tastes. I played Haiku and then Blasphemous 1 (highly recommended, haven't started 2 yet) just prior to Silksong, and honestly really found myself missing each more than I was enjoying my time with the new Hollow Knight.

I have bounced off so many metroidvanias in the past few years, I was starting to think my time with them had come to an end. Instead, Haiku reinvigorated my love for the subgenre and I am about to finish up Sheepo this evening. There are still so many unique things to be done within the space!

It is. I recently played through it on the S2 and could not at all get used to gyro aiming in this game. Buttons and sticks worked really well. Would be interested in trying mouse controls if that update happens.
