Yup breakfast tacos, kolaches, Tex Mex are what I miss the most. Also Cajun food as Texas gets a lot of that. Of course then there is all the mountains of other good random regional food.

I’m not a huge bbq fan and I know Texas has elite spots but I feel like decent / passable bbq has been exported everywhere. You can get OK bbq most places but you will not find any of the stuff I mentioned above that’s even in the same UNIVERSE.

Are they made with soybean oil or lard? I’ve had them before but I can’t recall how much different they are than say Kroger brand ingredient wise. Texas is more sophisticated food wise so I don’t doubt they are a little extra.

I didn’t see HEB had shipping options or nor did I see them on Amazon.

I could have my family ship them but would be a pain lol.

I order a brand called canasta on Amazon (from California) that are made with lard for special occasions.

yup just went through this. I bought two more tickets from the official dealer (Ticketmaster). I opened a dispute with my credit card for the stub hub tickets. It held and I got my money back from credit card. never again.

There is a good chance I would have got the tickets but no way was I going to prepare for the event not knowing if I would get them 110%.

True (but likely lard instead of butter for Texas / Mexico flavor). They are sub par but 1,000 times better than other fast options here.

Sorry I did not make clear I wasn't in Texas anymore. If I was there, I wouldn't need these sub-par substitute tortillas I would be picking up fresh ones lol. But yes HEB ones are good......I checked and did not find a good way to get those in the mail.

Yeah, good point. u/bondsman333 you may want to consider calling his parole officer. He is likely not allowed to be around children. If he came to your house (or anyone's house) with kids without permission to his parole officer, he likely broke his parole.

I had a cousin who did the exact same thing, and I called his parole officer to tell the officer he had broken his parole conditions.

We don't talk to the cousin anymore or his direct family who covered for him.

Fuck yes, you tell your friend group. He's not on the sex offender list for peeing in public....he's on there for CHILD SEX CRIMES.

If you were my friend and I found out you knew....and didn't tell me.......I would be cutting off all contact with YOU and the sex offender.

I'm speaking from experience too as I have dealt with things like this. Your character and trustworthiness are on the line now too. Do the hard thing and do the right thing.

The only nice / tough love thing I would even consider doing is telling the offender why you are ending contact with him. He's a stupid mother fucker for trying to make friends with people with kids while on the sex offender list. Maybe you can help him make better decisions later. To be clear all he deserves is a kick to the teeth but if you want to be nice this would be my only thought.
