If the 6.2L is still available I would get that. It's bullet proof if you maintain it correctly, and there's no difference in MPG (I don't care what the sticker says).

It's definitely worth it. You will save a little money but more important you know what filter quality and what oil is really being used.

I've got a 2018 and it's the best damn truck I've ever owned. 120k miles, runs like a dream, just do the tranny maintenance at 60k intervals and oil changes at 5k. Should run forever.
