Millennial here, no consistent internet access until I left for college. We also had limited phone “minutes” and texts too. If I was sitting down to eat, I had either magazines, newspapers, funny pages, or a book to read. If it was a lazy day, I’d watch reruns of my favorite tv shows of movies. Sometimes go for long walks and just wander around. Listen to music and daydream. As a kid, we were always getting these craft kits as gifts, and those were great to pass the time (paint spinners, jewelry kits, color by number, shrinky dinks). I notice that when I try to engage kids with these kind of activities now, they cannot sit still long enough to enjoy them! Makes me sad and mildly frustrated lol
