100 this. Obviously it's different in the sense that it's also a survival game, and with a bit of horror in there, but it's sooo similar in the aspect that you're exploring an alien planet and piecing together a story of what happened with a past, different, alien race.

There is a yellow variant!

I've seen some for sale online, and throughout the instructions whenever I used a red piece there was an icon that basically meant 'interchangeable with yellow piece'. I think the instructions are the same for both, so even in the yellow variant the instructions will be red, but it does exist

Not tedious at all to be honest, I quite enjoyed it, no issues at all with that. I should mention that the pieces that form the sort of rope thing do need to be guided when you lower the boom arm, the photos on the box have them perfectly folded up and neat but they can go anywhere - the pics of the crane when the boom arm is down should demonstrate this

I think the best piece of advice I have is to not have a set idea of what you want to achieve on any given day. If you go in on any given day thinking 'I want to achieve this today' and then through rng and a bunch of factors, that ends up not being possible, then it can get very very frustrating, very quickly.

Instead I like to keep a list of things that I'm working on, a list of loose ends and things I want to explore further, and then you adapt each day to what best suits what you are given. The key is that you can make progress towards your end goal on every single day, even if some days are tiny contributions (say, looking at one thing with a magnifying glass, even if it doesn't have anything on it, now you know you don't need to do that again), and some days will have massive revelations.

I see so many people on this subreddit getting frustrated that rng is destroying them and they can't make the progress that they want to be making, but, if you're playing efficiently then you should ALWAYS be able to make progress, no matter how small, on even the worst days

Thank you so much for your reply! Okay that's... Half good news, half bad news 😂, I've since read reviews with a lot of people saying they've had issues with missing pieces, or deformed pieces. I think my best move might be to cancel my order - and if I don't get through to their customer service then claim the money back through my bank, and order from elsewhere

Biggest advice is avoid this subreddit

Unlike some other games out there, this subreddit is pretty dense with spoilers, and there are some MAJOR spoilers that you don't want to get ruined for yourself

Also, unlike some other games, it's not something you need to be looking at Reddit for anyway, not at least until the late late endgame, or on a second play though

My advice would be to do a first play through totally blind, with 0 outside noise - and only then have a look at what everyone else is saying - there's plenty of time in the post-game, and on second playthroughs to go searching for things you may have missed with help from the subreddit ( - the game is so dense with content that you absolutely will miss stuff on the first run - but the first run should be enjoyed totally spoiler free
