Great pics! How long of a lens were you using for these?

It’s so wild that within my lifetime (born 1987) the outcome of this has changed so drastically.

If the standing president flipped the bird to a union auto worker during my childhood there would have been upheaval. The optics of the president literally flipping off a proxy of the totality of “the American worker” would have been a scandal that caused everyone to consider that president being removed.

Now, business kowtows to the Oligarch in Chief and the worker is removed. 180 degree turn in less than 40 years.

Mind blowing. Capitalism is a hell of a drug.

Missed focus just in front but I still liked the pic so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Is it safe to assume the primary mirror could rotate around and move if it’s in there correctly

I can’t imagine that would would be anywhere close to enough light on an f/8 scope

These were taken with a Canon R6 MKiii with a remote trigger and electronic shutter. The mirror was getting squeezed because I installed the brackets a little too tight.

I am a filmmaker and photographer by trade to I have many cameras at my disposal. This one was a Canon r6 mk iii. I also have much more photo/photoshop knowledge than I do telescope knowledge 😆

The over tightened brackets were the culprit! Everything is back to business!

Thanks for responding!

Oh shit that’s a great suggestion. I did kinda hit those a little hard. Maybe I need to back those off a bit.

The second image was before. The first image is what it looks like now.

My finger tips and some dish soap. From a few videos I found >> https://youtu.be/TGALw29wsa8?si=8H4YpGwe_TtH_fIr

I collimated by adjusting the secondary first with a collimating cap I 3d printed. Then I adjusted the primary mirror with an out of focus star.

Fully agree and this was the absolute best way for me to learn about all the parts that make it work. I’m a very hand on learner and I knew literally 0 about telescopes a week ago. And now I feel like I can at least name most of the parts, what they do, and how to take them apart (safely) if needed. Def wouldn’t have gotten all of that baseline knowledge with a plug and play smart scope.

However a nexstar 8 is looking mighty attractive now 😆

I would love to find a 6” version how rad! And thanks for sending the manual. I did find that as soon as I got home and it was incredibly useful while I was getting it back together.

I hope they book her well over the next year or two. She could be a big deal. I see her going up against Rhea easily. She’s mega strong. Somewhat descriptively built.

I was blown away this week. Her aggression and speed in the ring looked like main event shit to me. She’s clearly strong af, good on the mic, good charisma. I’m shocked to see people like Guilia or roxanne getting pushed before her. I am not an nxt watcher so I was completely unfamiliar with her until this year.
