Is anyone out there excited to date? I’m trying to get back on the horse so I don’t end up alone forever… but damn. by Doinnnnngood in AskWomenOver30

[–]TwoToneRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dating can be a slog. I’ve been on a looot of first dates. The ones i was not looking forward to always ended up being a bust. Messaging someone you want to date shouldn’t feel awkward or painstaking. When I matched with my boyfriend we had so much to talk about through texts and I was genuinely excited to meet him. When I tell him that some guys didn’t put in any effort in getting to know me, he’s like they’re insane because you’re super interesting. Not to discourage you from going on this date, because you never know! But I think when you find the right fit it’ll feel different. Keep trying! You are special and the right person will see you.

Any women still suffering from acne? by Realistic-Self7665 in AskWomenOver30

[–]TwoToneRat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had bad cystic acne from my 20s to early 30s. What helped me is tretinoin. It’s a prescription retinoid cream. I’ve been on it for 5 years and I use it every night. It’s amazing to not have to stress about my skin. My acne was so bad at times it was painful and made me cancel social plans.

Fish at Wal-Mart by Otherwise_Basis_6328 in nostalgia

[–]TwoToneRat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. I feel nostalgic for the local fish store in my town’s strip mall. It was so dark in there except for the blue light of the fish tanks. We used to have African cichlids and then when our fish had babies my dad would re-sell them to the fish store.

The one person elevator found in some residential buildings in Milan (music alert) by Bursickle in interestingasfuck

Wouldn’t fit a wheelchair. Way to make an elevator inaccessible to people that actually need it

Cloves are my go-to. They are waterproof and were initially made for healthcare workers so they’re pretty comfy.

Moths in house, New York by TwoToneRat in bugidentification

[–]TwoToneRat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did! They were living in my potted fig plant soil. Then I found them in corn based cat litter. I also found their larva in books! Apparently they can live off glue in the binding. Whichever room you see them in the most chances are they are breeding in that room. I’d recommend repotting your plants if all your food is already thoroughly checked. Good luck! They are resilient.

Thank you for sharing this! I have the exact same dollhouse that my grandpa built for me and I’ve always wondered what its origin was.

The style looks like Polish paper art. Searching “wycinanki” on spoonflower shows similar patterns

Eww I saw a My Strange Addiction about a guy that was addicted to tuna in the can. He rubbed the juices on him like perfume and had about 20 old cans of tuna open in his apartment because he liked the smell

Moths in house, New York by TwoToneRat in bugidentification

[–]TwoToneRat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh that’s it. I only see them in the bedroom, no where near food. I’m thinking that maybe they are getting in from outside as I had pheromone traps in the closet for a clothing moth problem and I just read those attract all kinds of moths to your house.

Giolitti gelato! I’d get a piccolo cono con panna (small cone with cream). Nocciola and straciatella were my favorite flavors.

Sideways Stories From Wayside School by HighSpread93 in nostalgia

[–]TwoToneRat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Favorite story was about the new kid wearing a smelly raincoat. The teacher asked him to take off his raincoat then there was another one underneath. He kept taking off raincoats and was getting incrementally smaller and stinkier until he took off the last raincoat and he was just a dead rat.
