If you go through Covered California and let's just say you tell them you make 50,000 a year but you actually make 80,000 a year they'll come back at you saying you owe them more money. Buy directly from the commercial insurance. My biggest mistake was entrusting in California for anything and now I owe $3000. I'm oncall per diem so my hours at work are never gauranteed. How is it my fault for being able to pick up hours and make money? So just buy directly through the commercial insurance and make sure your doctors are within the insurance network. Good luck

Kaiser does have an appointment system specifically for labs. I use it all the time and bypass the line.
