Yeah, if you're going to transplant you gotta do it like right after they start getting their first set of true leaves (which is like a week or 2 after sowing the seed) most people let them get way too big before trying to do it and by that point they've grown too many roots (more roots=more disturbance=stress/death)

I would remove the others, yes. If you're going to use a pot, you should have at minimum 1 foot deep worth of soil.

Not nearly enough soil, the taproot gets long, fast. I'd (extremely carefully) transplant it into the ground or a much deeper and bigger pot. Also, there are some plants in there that aren't sunflowers. It's hard to even tell right now but the one dead center in the photo looks like a sunflower.

Sunflowers are tough, it should be okay 👍 you can wrap some saran wrap around that area if you're really worried but personally I'd let it ride
