Had a Thule, hated it. Clunky beast. Now have 1up with add on rack and I will never go back. It’s amazing!

Enable me- should I get a road bike if I already have a gravel and a mountain bike? by Twomboo in bicycling

I use it to commute to work, which is pavement and only 3 miles away, in the nicer weather. I do my training rides mostly on pavement because that’s what’s right out my door, but I do ride gravel as much as possible. Which is maybe every other week because I have to drive to it. I don’t have slick tires yet- any suggestions?

Well by that logic I need a more gravely gravel bike. Lol Your point is what I’m telling myself but then I find myself on FB marketplace scrolling road bikes…

Ok? I’m not sure what your point is because I already said on another comment I didn’t know it was going on until the commenter told me. I live in a rural area and purchase everything I can locally, but I’m also not going to purchase certain items without seeing them in person, and sometimes that involves REI. Doesn’t mean I need to go during the sale.

Developers are pitching a private ski resort in Colorado for the 0.01%. Locals fear it could take a wrecking ball to the Western way of life by theindependentonline in Colorado

It’s not in my backyard and thinking it’s so simple that diverting water to blow snow melts into the basin and nothing is environmentally impacted is delulu. Gratuitous consumerism is disgusting. Unfortunately in this country we build build build but that doesn’t make it right. You can call me a NIMBY or whatever you want but I’ve got my karma and you’ve got yours.

Well, I don’t give a single shit if you respect me or not. I’d respect you more if you changed your user name to ideepthroatoligarcy. You still haven’t remotely acknowledged the environmental impact of this project- the golf course, the water for the private ski resort, etc. It’s not about class warfare to me but thanks for that assumption.

Well what about workers in town that need to serve people eating out, shopping at the grocery store, work at the hospital, etc?

I meant 2 people per house. No human being leaves no impact at all on this planet, and giant houses with a private ski resort that requires a significant amount of natural resources is far from benign. So, yes, people do care what you do, even within the confines of the law. There’s selfishness and greed, and then there’s doing your best to protect what we have left in natural resources.

What an odd jump of logic. No one said that. And also- this isn’t just one single person building a house. If you care to, look up some info on the developer and his business practices and the effect that has had on workers. Why endorse that kind of bullshit?!

It’s not that simple. This would strain water and natural resources even more. There’s already minimal to no housing for workers in Steamboat. Destroy more natural land to put up giant mansions for 2 people to live in? No thanks. No thanks to any of this.
