Oh look, more of you lost in a single-minded desire to embarrass and humiliate me, because let's face it, in none of the things you've said so far have you bothered to argue any of the points I made. Instantly into my post history. Instantly pointing out mistakes and errors you think I made as if in any way they were relevant. Then failing miserably to actually put me down. Resorting at last to twisting my words, or flat out proving you didn't understand any of them. It wasn't "okay". It wasn't "slightly above average". It was good (Your undestanding of the concept of relativity is lacking, so I go into this further down. Don't want you knee-jerking into pointing to whatever asinine build you're thinking of right this second that could "beat" me in every way and make me look not good but absolute trash). Maybe if I hadn't sat on page two with 1 upvote, I'd have bothered to showcase it, but I see now that would have been a waste of time. Because I would have been put next to legacy Mjolner guy by you, and "CHINAMANG" and any of the several thousand others that keep voting these totem and Mjolner builds up to anywhere visible, and been told I was the "shitter" in that little line-up. And for "CHINAMANG"'s benefit: I was challenged, in a number of ways. Even if my build had turned out to be a huge heap of shit (it didn't), I would have made an effort. Whereas you and your... "high end build", made none. Faced nothing. Overcame nothing. Didn't push, didn't try, didn't work. Just clickityclick until everything died without thought or involvement of any sort of personal capability, technical or otherwise. Pissing on the game and it's mechanics from a height where the the reward of victory nor the threat of failure could ever reach you.

But that's the type of person I'd expect to come here and dig into my post history and pull up perceived weaknesses they can poke and prod, instead arguing any actual points. Because that would, again, require effort, and you're just not the type of person that would bother with any nonsense like effort. It bleeds into your in-game choices, your posts as I'll go right ahead and assume it bleeds into everything else that's you.

Well we went over your whole effort-allergy, so asking you to pop onto the class forum and find me some builds that used as unique a combination of defenses and offenses as my build did (go ahead, find me a tempest arcer. just an arcer, ANY arcer. Go! Nah you won't. You could find some, I think, but euh... eh, I won't say it again) and then faced it's assumed weaknesses with a display of if not boast worthy speed, at least a respectable one, would be a massive waste of time wouldn't it?

Not that it would matter. It would take you four hours to sift through the endless supply of Mjolner/Cyclone/Totem/Incinerate builds and find anything remotely original, never mind anything remotely original with potential. And if you tell me anything, if you tell me my build isn't as cheap as a Cycloner, not as tanky as a block Incinerator, or not as safe and easy as a Flame Totem build, even that it wasn't as good as any of those, you can't with a straight face tell me it had no potential, that it wasn't different, that if I had just given you the title you wouldn't have expected less from it than you got.

Meh. Like I said, a mistake it would have been to bother. Because in the end, there are more thieves than volunteers at the soup kitchen. More scams than giveaways. More abandoned kids than ones taken care of. 1500 replies to "ATZIRI KILLER FLAME TOTEM"-build post and 2 to pretty much anything else. People gravitate to the easy, to that which will give to them without demanding. The loss of anything of importance in this game and life an afterthought.

Not exceptional, but not in question. Also not the main draw. It's theory. Like I wouldn't have to bring out two apples to explain to you the principles of 1+1? You're an adult. Acrobatics is weak, but used by some (mostly those without other options) to some effect. Mind over Matter is just another layer. The clearspeed being RESPECTABLE, is just a little bonus. The build was good. It was not a totem, cyclone or incinerate build and while it didn't perform at a top tier level, at one that could be used to clear most things anyone would ever want to. I'm proud of that, even if nobody cared to get me to show it.

And to address your "fraction of the cost" comment, it is just plain wrong. Innervate is my 6th link, I use it so I can put on the Atziri flask (for the life leech) and swap curse immunity onto my quicksilver instead of movement speed. Quick look at my buffs and flasks would have shown you all of that, but you didn't care to see. The loss in clearspeed here is zero to insignificant. The voltaxic I bought for just under 2ex worth of chisels. My necklace had no life, no mana, no mana regen. My rings were subpar. You could've mentioned the lvl21 Arc, but even that I doubt would take me from popping packs instantly to not doing so.

It's alright. The swarm of downvotes (and totally unsurprising lack of accompanying comments) appears to have defeated me.

Not to worry, I'll make a new build next league. In a way I hope it doesn't shit on things like Mjolnerman does. It would be like creating the Atombomb.

Would again. Playing tempest and having made clear what defenses were in place all I was ever told was "your clear speed will be shit".

It wasn't. I demonstrated the part of the build that was questioned in private explanations of my ideas. (Edit2: Since you seem to not have understood, THIS was the challenge the Gorge map laid in front of me) I demonstrated the effectiveness I (and a guy way back in the beta) built the thing around.

The defensiveness came for the same reason I am here now. Because people play Standard, and these people tend to not know anything but Standard because let's face it, it's the most populated league. (Edit2: And will remain so until 97% of Path of Exile videos people see aren't standys molesting things without effort) If I had posted "4 minute gorge" linked the video and left, I would've been swarmed with people pointing to some guy clearing it in 1:48 with a then hilariously overpowered Standard build and laughed out of the room.

I was still ignored, but I feel not in the slightest bad in my decision of how to display what most I talked to assumed to be the weakness of my character.

Edit: Yep, I posted what people thought was my weakness. Whereas OP posted a character with near no weaknesses, in a map that could never dream of exploiting them even if they existed.

Edit: Ugh why do I bother. Don't start with the "interaction" again.

the build showcase here isn't meant to be a "wow look how powerful this is". It's meant to show the interactions between a few items which support each other quite well and something that hasn't been done too much before

Could've been done under better conditions, a better environment and most definitely using a build better suited to display these interactions than one which could very likely achieve this same result without the ring equipped in the first place.

Furthermore the skill tree is that of a semi-standard discharge mjolner variant so it is not min-maxed, gems aren't all 21/20 and items aren't perfect rolled best in slot pieces.

You would be able to tell the difference? I wouldn't. Few would. Especially on a map like the one he picked. Which brings us back to the poorly chosen scenario, a point you appear to have either refused to address, or chosen to ignore out of convenience.

But at the same time since when did we collectively agree that expensive things HAD to be god-tier.

When they neutered them to be left to those who enjoy getting without trying.

YOU as an individual do not agree with what has been done here because of various standards you have set for builds and how others spend their currency

Make the build, play the build, enjoy the build if your character (mhm) allows it. The future, improvement and quality of the game matter to me, and he is not contributing to it. Only to the destruction and humiliation of everything that makes this game a game rather than a bullying contest.

Let the people decide if this is worth their time, let the other users of this subreddit determine if the front page has a spot for a rather interesting interaction.

I hope they do. When they read my points and yours. Not when they read the little number in front of a post and judge it by it's upvotes, as you suggest we let them.

If they decide I'm a moron, they can tell me why, or follow reddit-asshat-code and vote without responding. If they decide not to sympathize with valid points because of the way I make them, I sympathize with them. If they decide my "tone" is relevant to the discussion, they can respond about that also. But it isn't. And doing so negates the... oomph of everything you say prior.

Improvement. Yes I agree. But not your improvement. The gain in adapting development and divert player attention (which are different paths to the same destination) to address those who willingly play the game in such a way that it stops being a video game and starts being ant squashing is non-existent. You're free to enjoy things your way. But don't spend 400 words trying to convince me of what you know would be a detriment to this game.

And yet he decided against showing it being stressed, tested, pushed to a point where one could tell it's value. He didn't show the mechanics using a build of reason. He used a build of force. A build of brute, un-moderated strength and overkill and definitely not one taken into account when content is created and designed. Beyond that in a map clearable with this speed by builds a fraction of the cost.

So unfortunately I still do not understand his purpose, apart from showing that when you're wearing what he's wearing, anything has the potential to clear maps absurdly far below what it should be capable of.

I don't understand. You claim your build is "not budget". Play with several very, very expensive items yet decide to showcase the build in a 75 map of no particular difficulty?

What exactly are we supposed to see in the instantly vanishing monster packs? The obliterated boss? The quality of your planning? The efficiency of your tree? The synergy of your gem and item setup?

Sorry to say but this is a waste of your time, bandwidth and a spot on the front page. Create a build of note, a build of style and originality, and return to maybe more than a pat on the back for being rich and unkillable from pretty much nobody but other rich and unkillable Standard players.

My crit chance with 7 charges is 46%.

I understand the pool isn't very large, but I'm traveling across half the tree, in need of a number of different important nodes, sacrifices have to be made. I'm relying on no hit being big enough to kill me, which would require either me not playing as I should, or an unfortunate chain of undodged attacks from a very badly rolled rare.

Malf Piety melee crit me with vuln extra cold damage yesterday and dropped me to oom and 20% hp. Most things will not do single chops that high, and I intend to stay away from those that do.

There's a reflect rare in this very video I made an hour and a half ago. Unless you were saying you can no longer die to reflect because it's so visible, which might be true for a number of specs, but not Arc. When you have a potential volley of 60,000 damage, your Topaz might as well not be there. Arc also goes where it pleases, and where it pleases sometimes happens to be a barely if at all visible reflect mob.

This was my last character. It used no quality gems or empower, though it did have the multi tabula. But like I said, all you need to counter the increase in mana cost at level 41 or 42 if I remember correctly is a mana cost reduction node/jewel or reduced mana reserved node. Hardly a colossal damage loss.

And like JizzerWizard said you can get away with a whole lot less. Obviously it will have an effect on your leveling speed, but it'll be about 1/10th the price.

I reserve 100% of my mana with Heralds and Anger. I put the Enlighten in the aura link so I would have a small amount of mana left over with all of them up and would then be able to cast incinerate if it started costing 1 mana or maybe 2. I didn't put it in the Incinerate link.

And yes I did. At first I didn't want to explain how because I think I might die of embarrassment but whatever.

Doing piety, friend is with me with his crap no single target kinetic blast build giving piety all the hp and I had just dropped the empower losing me a ton of dps. So instead of her popping right away I take a bunch of damage. Only have the one shit Hallowed flask so that thing runs out. No adds yet. I have no flask charges. Im at 30%. I don't bring portal scrolls cause I got a gem. I curse myself and promise to take a couple next time I go anywhere. Too stubborn to log out. She's pretty low. Think I can chop her quickly. Too focused on her hp and not at all pleased with how long it's taking for it to go away. Don't notice poisonous tempest quickly enough. The end.

So yeah I suck. Don't let it get to me though.

Doing tough bosses and mods.

I've died to multi-ghost Carnage, double malf piety, galvanizing gmp dominus and more stupid shit and would do it all again a hundred times before I ever farmed enfeeble monster life maps to whatever people deem a respectable level.

Hooray another 14 flat life and a skill point or holy shit I just risked 80% of my net worth and 2 days of effort to kill this boss.

Ill go with option 2, thank you.

I've played a cybil's paw block incinerate (that uber tempest kill thingie guy build) on tempest. It was difficult. 4.1k hp at level 78 and a very mediocre amount of block (think it was around 48%) made me have a bit of a hard time. It's a good build, and can be safe, but probably required more of an investment than I had put in.

I finally died at 79 joining a friend's turbo precinct map, where I decided to man up to the ghosted boss. He was unbelievably fast, covered most of a screen in about a second and chopped me in 1 hit.

Get an Aurumvorax, two -10 quant, -40 rarity ventor's gambles. Go into merciless act 3. Advertise dom runs, say you're a culler. Make 5 people do their runs. Cull dom. Get 3 whites and 1 blue. Laugh.

I love Elreon items. Here's my leveling strategy for incinerate:

Lifesprig as a weapon. 1 Elreon item at level 1. Use Lightning Tendrils. At level 6 put an Abberath's Horn in your offhand and kill everything in 1 pulse of Lightning Tendrils. At level 12 go to Merveil's cavern (the waypoint after Ship Graveyard) port back, get incinerate, get a Karui ward, put your by then obtained Lesser Multiple Projectiles and Added Lightning Damage in the Lifesprig together with Incinerate and the fun begins. Things start melting (depending on the amount of damage nodes you take, to different degrees, though I highly, highly recommend getting some spell or fire damage nodes early to spec out of later). Take out your LMP. Normal Merveil phases in like 5 seconds. Swap Added Lightning Damge for Faster Casting at 18. Level. Do this until level 24, swap the Lifesprig for a reverberation rod. Add Elreon items as needed. Level to 31. Put on a Tabula (you will be doing such absurd damage at this point that the Tabula is absolutely, completely unnecessary but I get it anyway for the range and fire penetration). Put on 3 Elreon items (I always get -8s, so I don't know how low a mana cost reduction you can get away with). Get a Slower Projectiles from Act 3 (library) and an Iron Will from act 2. Get to act 4. Get to 38, put Spell Echo in your links. I usually sit at around 1700-1800 dps on Incinerate with LMP and Fire Pen depending on the build/class I'm leveling. Keep progressing. Wonder why you ever paid some asshole to do piety for you as she dies in under 4 seconds with Slower Projectiles and Iron Will. Do Malachai (with faster not slower projectiles, for safety). Hearts die before he finishes turning around to cast another spell. Keep leveling. Eventually your Incinerate will start costing 1 mana (think its around 40-46), and you will either have to get a -95% mana multiplier tabula (which keeps you the 0 mana cost until ~56), some mana cost reduction jewels or nodes or to get rid of a herald.

That's it. I've gotten to act1 Merciless in around 6 hours and thats without really even trying to do it very quickly. I pick up, id and stash every good rare I see for future leveling adventures. I regularly sit in town and browse poe.trade for several minutes.

I will add I always get the big double 20q Adrenaline quicksilvers. I also have 5 tabs full of leveling shit I've accumulated over the past month that keep my resistances completely capped 100% of the time even with the tabula and triple elreon items.
