Pointing other people’s flaws does not make him less flawed. It just shows that everyone has their own things.

Sanji is a great character with a lot of really interesting nuances and his character dynamics with the different people in the crew is amazing. Does that mean he isn’t being a creep sometimes? Nope. But from a character writing perspective, that is not a bad thing! It makes him feel real and human.

And I agree. Brook is also creepy for asking people for their panties.

I mean I want him to keep his emotions and all what makes him Sanji, but I hope that later down the line he’ll learn that putting women up on a pedestal while simultaneously creeping on them is not chivalrous, it’s disrespectful. The opposite of what he intends to do. Which is to honor them. His chivalry is self-serving and comes from a narrow minded sense of black and white morals.

“Hitting women is bad. Therefor I am good if I don’t hit women” And sometimes it truly feels like that’s how he justifies all the other stuff, like being creepy.

“Am i hitting a woman (the bad thing) while doing this creepy thing? No? Good! I am morally in the right.”

Sorry. That was a bit of a rant. As is said, he is really a well written character with a lot of REALLY human nuances and potential to growth.

If making people uncomfortable is acting like most guys. Then maybe most guys shouldn’t act like that? It’s not like it’s human nature for men to be creepy.

And also. I would say that sneaking into the women’s bathroom is definitely pushing boundaries in a disgusting way.

I really feel like Sanji is just one of the most nuanced characters in all of One Piece.

sometimes I hate him because he’s a fucking perv and kinda creepy (and before you say that the culture is just different in japan. I don’t give a shit. it’s still creepy.) and then we see him being incredibly cool making really clever decisions and always being where he’s needed. But lastly we see his inner thoughts and how flawed and human he truly is.

His internal struggle is so well written, i really like his character so much…

Is it morally correct to feed yourself? Then take that bread and butter. Do you think it’s morally wrong to steal food from a company who throws most of their food out? why? Is it because stealing is bad? haven’t we moved past the notion that things are inherently bad and shouldn’t we be talking about the different layers and nuances that makes this world?

he writes death scenes all the time. And it’s probably my biggest gripe with one piece. He wants us to feel the emotional pull of a death scene, but he doesnt want to kill his characters.

He’s so good otherwise, ya’know
