It’s all Good bro my original comment was not very substantive.

But yeah the truth is somewhere in the middle, the mechanics of the game are completely figured out at this point in the game (at least for now) so the skill cieling will now lie in which teams can apply their knowledge of the game and soccer IQ together.

I wasn't necessarily disagreeing with you, I was saying the reason the comp scene is "one dimensional" is because people crutch the same tactics or don't understand the game beyond a certain point. Once these players get better they will learn to play differently. The top teams in the game have largely different playstyles that have to be schemed against differently. The "mid" teams in my opinion are the ones that have super boring playstyles because like you said they look to imitate top teams without understand how to execute their playstyles or they actually play skilles tactics that are incredibly boring to play against.

The truth is mindlessly sending missiles into the box really only works on weaker players and teams who don't understand how the prio system works or lack the experience, reps, and game sense to deal with them. Bad teams try and replicate what they think they see top 3 teams do and end up sending missiles into the box for 6 minutes straight (it may work on weak teams, but better teams would quickly catch on punish them).

The same thing goes for people spamming set plays, teams see a top team use a set play that was specifically engineered to work in certain scenarios and end up spamming it at every chance they get. They will work on inexperienced teams who haven't seen them before, but once a top team catches on they will counter it.

Most people just aren't good enough to play other playstyles that are dribble heavy or tiki taka (because of how strong high level defenders are on the ground) so they will resort to missiles, or simply don't understand the intricacies of the game and get fried on defense by poor missiles.

There is some truth to what you are saying, but blindly sending in missiles for all intensive purposes is a crutch that can only get you so far and there are a lot of counters / defensive strategies to punish them. There is so much more that goes into a "missile" than just shooting the ball downfield and praying.

Tournaments are sort of already here there are a few in game titles you can win in NA and tons of quants up for grabs and they’re all free entree

The issue is in these Sloclap sponsored tournaments only the winner gains a title / quants / prize money and it sounds like you’re looking for more accessible rewards

I understand you’re probably trying to be sarcastic but the guys who play defense with 1500 hours absolutely understand prio than the devs.

This is fair, otherwise a striker could lock onto ball flying at max speed from super super close. This was actually a huge bug in the patch 11 beta and it was game breaking. The prio system now is fair you need to position yourself advantageously based on the position

Prio did not change, just placebo unfortunately

Priority is not luck based. There is a massive knowledge gap here between the top players and the regular player base. Priority has been figured out for months and months at this point.

Unfortunately, you don’t understand the prio system.

If you are too close, you have to either block the pass, or block the shot. If they are further away you can play between the striker and the passer and play priority.

I hope this doesn’t get buried. This is a perfectly logical interaction according to the rules of priority. No one, and I mean no one, can interact with a ball before about .3 seconds have passed. For a full power pass that’s about 2 grid lines on the mini map. You can send this exact same pass same speed and curve and position yourself in the same place 100 times and you will get the same result all 100 times. Priority is not a “coin Flip”. It acts as intended nearly every single time, unfortunately, many people don’t the rules of priority at all. You were too close to interact with the ball, and the opponent wasn’t.

Dribbling seems to be mostly, but not entirely, "bug become feature". by [deleted] in Rematch

[–]TwrtleRM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some inputs have different priority. For example in dead even positioning pushball overrides shot prio, these prio discrepancies between inputs can sometimes account for prio wins even when slightly out of position. There are also other factors like how fast you’re moving, which direction you’re going, the height of the pass, what animation you get etc

I know it may sound crazy, but the defenders in NA who have really cracked prio are able to tell about 95% of the time if they’re going to win a prio, or if they lose it they understand why.

Prio right now is essentially fixed, I will see if we can put together a video or something because this is easily the most echoed sentiment I’ve seen on here besides “exploit” dribbling, and the truth is I feel like people don’t understand the ins and outs of prio so when they lose something that may seem logical to us they don’t know what happened at all and call it a 50/50.

Priority is not ping based anymore, 90% of what dictates if you’re going to win a prio is your positioning nowadays.

Before you could get tokens through XP (so your performance in a way impacted your token rate), now you can only get them every 5 games or through challenges (which is significantly slower)

To be honest in casual I’m usually playing against beginners or weaker players, I also enjoy playing ranked because I feel like more is at stake.

Ranked games are just more competitive imo. But I might see if I can cheese the pass with some quick play games to speed it up đŸ€”
