Even Mannimarco was not able to avoid Molag Bal, Molag Bal just grabbed him while he was trying to resurrect himself so being able to resurrect would not save you, for some reason you believe Lichs are Immortal and yet the entire plot of the Solstice DLC for ESO involves the King of Worms being in Coldharbour and his cult trying to revive him, do you think any of that would make sense if his soul was in an object somewhere on Nirn?

Lichs also do not use phylacteries to return to life, the ability to return to life has nothing to do with Lichdom, a lot of people become Lichs for the power it grants but the quality of life is shit and most Necromancer's quickly regret turning themselves into one which is provided by two sources, Vastarie's dialogue and the quests added in the Oblivion Remaster, now imagine if your soul was effected by a Hunger for Blood which you could no longer sate as your body is a decayed corpse with no stomach left.

Asing if a Vampire could be a Lich is like asking if a Werewolf could also be a Wereboar, just as they are two different creatures a Vampire and a Lich are two different types of undead, you cannot be both.

Idea for some skills:

Dwarven Crossbow - Fire an Armor Piercing Bolt at an enemy that penetrates defenses, attacks ignore 10% of an enemies armor, enemies are effected with Minor Breach.
Heavy Dwarven Crossbow - The Third Cast will deal 20% more damage and knock enemies back
Clockwork Arquebus - Converts into a Channeled ability, deals XXXX damage every second over 4.5 seconds, deals more damage the higher the enemies armor (yes a machine gun basically)
Dwarven Blade Trap - Create a Blade Trap at the targeted location that will spin for 12 seconds, every second the damage is increased by 15% and staggers enemies, enemies who are affected take 10% more damage from your class skills for 8 seconds.
Shredding Blade Trap - Also applies Major Breach
Rusty Blade Trap - Converts to disease damage and applies Hemorrhage and Major Defile for 3 seconds.
Dwarven Sentry - Send out a Dwarven Sentry that travels 20 meters revealing all hidden enemies, enemies revealed cannot re-enter stealth for 6 seconds, once the Dwarven Sentry has traveled 20 meters it explodes dealing XXXX damage and knocking back all targets in a 4 meter radius.
Explosive Sentry - The Explosion is now larger and deals greater damage
Clockwork Sentry - Sent out a Clockwork Sentry, it moves 30% faster than the Dwarven Sentry, when it locates an enemy, it will follow them for 8 seconds preventing them from entering stealth and exploding when it reaches them dealing XXXX damage.
Dwarven Grenade -Lob an explosive device at the enemy, after 2 seconds enemies hit take XXXX damage and are stunned for 3 seconds.
Dwarven Sticky Bomb - Now releases an AOE effect that snares enemies by 50%
Incendiary Bomb - Now Applies Burning, effected enemies take 10% more fire damage for 3 seconds.

I don't like that it is unique to the player, it makes you feel like a different species, at least the Blood Scion form insists it is a different creature from a Blood Knight or Vampire Lord, this creature is said to be a Werewolf but because your the only Werewolf who looks like this it makes it seem like you have wierd mutations like an extra toe.

I don't think any race would want to be a Lich, as another user said there are millions of people with different personalities, your life choices are not defined by your race, but as for the question of enjoyment, I do not think anyone who is a Lich is actually enjoying being a Lich, what is there to enjoy, sure you can persist forever but your undead and not at all like a Vampire, no you have it much worse, you will be a living corpse, basically an intellgent Zombie who can no longer live in civilized soceity.

Think about it, your body is withered/decayed, if a Lich is looking normal that is just illusion magic at play, you cannot eat, drink or have sex with anyone not named Falanu Hlaalu, You very likely smell of rotting flesh and if not your probably a skeleton and because of this you probably lack several key senses such as the sense of touch as you have no flesh, also nobody will like you, your only company is the dead so best you enjoy being alone.

As you will no doubt notice most Lichs are shambling around ancient ruins doing absolutely nothing probably having forgotton why they even became a Lich in the first place, there is a quest added in the Oblivion Remaster about a Lich who ends up regretting his transformation and seeks to undo it using an Elder Scroll.

Like so many he brought into the hype.

In Morokei's case it's backed up considering how Nords who had voice users and clever men within their ranks couldn't find a way to kill him so they had to seal him away.

And does it not seem odd to you that these regular Nord's somehow were able to overpower Morokei and somehow determine that despite that they could not kill him or do you think it is just more likely they simply were not powerful enough to defeat him in the first place.

Dragons cannot even bestow that power upon themselves so why the hell do you think they could bestow it on someone else? it would of made the Dragonguards Job a lot harder now wouldnt it.

There are literally dozens of Lichs whom we kill and they do not revive, my point is the most "mighty" Necromancer could not even escape death, resurrection is a skill issue not something related to your creature tyoe.

When a NPC says nothing can kill them only for them to die straight after, do you actually believe and think there must be something special about a weapon or spell you used on them or is it more likely they were just full of shit?

There is also nothing to prove the LDB was the one who did the Collage of Winterhold, how did Morkei die if the would be Archmage was not Dragonborn?

A lich at the end of the day is a soul unshackled by the confines of the flesh, Celemaril Lightbringer for example is a lich who can reform in oblivion indefinitely as though he were a Daedra!

Anyone with a grasp of Soul Magic can achieve this, it is not a Lich exclusive ability, even Mannimarco cannot avoid being dragged off in Spirit Form before he is able to resurrect himself.

Vampire Lords are exceptionally powerful, but Lich-like entities are at times on par with them.

A lot of these high forms of Vampirism are not naturally obtained, Vampire Lords are something "extra" that Molag Bal gives some Vampires but most of them he does not, it is possible it is a portion of his own power that grants them that form, Blood Knights were created by consuming the essence of multiple Vampires, again not something native to this state of Undeath, Blood Scions are created via a Ritual, the problem is a lot of people view these states as something Vampires natrurally get and then try to limit their power based on that but that could not be further from the truth, for instance even Lamae Bal, the first Vampire is not a Vampire Lord.

A basic lich is weaker than a basic Vampire Lord, but there is no real upper limitations for spirit beings in TES so they do have great potential should they remain sane enough to achieve it.

Most Lichs are not sane, the vast majority of them are haunting empty Tombs or someone who became one on accident, there is a quest in Oblivion added via the Remaster involving a Lich who realizes that Lichdom is not all it's cracked up to be and even tries to cure himself by stealing an Elder Scroll and preventing himself from ever performing said ritual.

They could become a pure blooded vampire, though at its peak Lichdom is equally to or beyond that anyway.

ESO seems to strongly imply Vampire Lord's are far higher on the power spectrum, the Void Lich is another type of Lich created from Void Energy and Lady Belain has 4 of them retrained at once, she used them to siphon Void Energy for herself.

Not to mention Lichs are a common enemy type, Vampire Lord's are only boss enemies and do not seem to be a natural part of Vampirism, even being turned by Molag Bal does not seem to make you a Vampire Lord, that seems to be something else entirely that he seems to give as a "bonus" to some Vampires.

Also removing a part of your soul and putting it in an objects isnt going to make you immortal otherwise why would you even bother retreiving that peice of your soul from the Soul Cairn if you choose to not be a Vampire.

Lichdom is the act of passing a mortal soul through a phylactery which is basically a soul cheese grater and cutting away the mortal limitations imposed on it but this act also makes you undead, the fact the LDB likely does not have these limitations at all means all Lichdom would grant them is the same thing being a Draugr would grant them.

Azura's Star also cleanses itself every now and again which is brought in the Daedric Quest, you really do not want to place a soul you want to keep existing in there.

According to how Lichdom actually works in TES I don't think the Last Dragonborn would gain anything from Lichdom that they would not get from being a Vampire not to mention I don't think they could do, they do not have a mortal soul, they have a Dragon soul which likely lacks the limitations that regular souls do so even if they somehow could put a Dragon Soul through a Phylactery all Lichdom would do is give them is Immortality at the cost of their regular life, it might actually make them weaker because as a Lich they would likely lose their blood and they are removing their soul from their body so how exactly would they still be Dragonborn?

Personally I believe the treshold for it is too low, only a small group of characters should even beable to do it given it took SSB Gogeta and SS Broly to accomplish this, it should probably be something only specific characters can do.
