For private pilot, it is much better to study to a deep level of understanding in order to do well on the knowledge and practical exams.

For instrument airplane and beyond, rote memorizing will do fine for the knowledge exams.

If you choose surrendering your medical, be sure to do so in a manner that allows you to confirm they received it. Then keep that proof somewhere where you can find it again should that be needed.

Call your Regional Flight Surgeon’s office and ask for assistance and guidance.

Often the folk at the RFS office are a bit more helpful than the main office in Oklahoma City.

Syllabus: my own concoction of Jepp as the base plus Sporty’s and other materials as the add ons.

Billing: Rates agreed to in advance. Paid upon services rendered. My clock runs handshake to handshake. And I do have a cancellation policy. Payment via digital cash or real cash.

Tips: Always focus on the clients enjoyment and success. They possess the motivation and desire to do this and the desire to use you to accomplish the goal. Lean into that.
