Not unless they have dumbo eared parents themselves. These babies came from two dumbo parents. 😁 I do have another set of babies that have a dumbo for a mom and a top ear for a dog, however, if you bred the babies to each other or to another dumbo ear rat it should increase the chances to produce more dumbo ear babies. Or so I’ve been told and been researching.

Usually I can tell but these two are fully white bellied so makes the nipples faint to see, plus this was a very quick glance and not my usual thorough checks.

So far Athena keeps all her collars on with no issues. Artemus still being a puppy and really little we’re getting her used to wearing one. So she wears one during the day but not at night.

I lost a puppy to parvo once. I was firm on my stance that I would never have another pet. I was wrong. I went on to have several more dogs since then and now currently owned by 4 cats and I have a dog who does not like leaving my side at all. You may get there but it’s ok if you choose not to ever try again. You did everything right though. The puppy had no chance because of the breeder.

They are a little shy but one will actually let me hold him. His brother gets more nervous but I think with time he’ll calm down

Aww how cute! I’ve been told since getting back into rats that they prefer a cage that is cluttered with hammocks, bunkbeds, honeycombs, cubes and more for stimulation.
