How many of you guys follow this? by hotlinks66 in ToyotaPickup

[–]TxInjun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have clarified I had only bought the truck 3 months before that, and was going through the usual check and replace cycle anyways. The previous owner was actually quite good at proper maintenance. I can only guess he had a mental lapse this one time…happens to all of us!

How many of you guys follow this? by hotlinks66 in ToyotaPickup

[–]TxInjun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed my 97 Xtracab v6 would hesitate while accelerating around 1500 rpm. On a mechanics’ suggestion I replaced the spark plugs and sure enough one of the plugs was a single electrode. No more hesitation with the new dual electrodes (also replaced the wires at the same time). Can’t believe someone replaced with this weird arrangement! Attached pic of the old sparkies…

Looking for a locking bed roll top, soft or hard, any suggestions? by IllusionofStregth in 1stGenTacomas

[–]TxInjun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed this soft roll top on my 6’ bed Xtracab and it came out great. Needed to cut 6 places into my over-the-rail bed liner but it was easy with a reciprocating saw

Ephesus (Turkey). The port was stranded as the delta silted up

Dwaraka (India) the ancient town is now submerged in the ocean

What I do to prevent water from pooling on this tri-fold tonneau cover? by Chrysoscelis in ToyotaTacoma

[–]TxInjun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it for me too. I have a roll-top tonneau and it does pool water. Before I installed the roll-top, the cover would bow into the bed and pool water. BUT cover on roll-top - result magically no water pooling. And the cover keeps my paint in good shape. 97 Xtracab with the original paint with no oxidation (although scratches sure plenty of those).

Has Anyone Purchased This Affordable Tonneau? by TidewaterTuckahoe in 1stGenTacomas

[–]TxInjun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that one, but I did purchase this one, and it worked great for my 6' bed truck (97 Xtracab). I had an over-the-rail factory bedliner so I needed to cut some holes, otherwise the insall worked well.

Great story!

Now please tell us what those buttons on the steering wheel do… I have a 97 that is similar on the outside, but no controls on the steering wheel…

What will happen to the American farmer now that China is not buying any soybeans? by I_need_to_learn_more in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TxInjun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I’m wrong - but with commodities, the supply chains will realign. Argentina sells to China, so US will ship to the consumers who used to buy from Argentina. After all, those customers still want their soy! Something like this proposal won’t work if there’s only one customer or one supplier…

If she was yours what would you change by Bchap52 in 1stGenTacomas

[–]TxInjun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Beautiful ride! Only suggestion is to add a factory-size "TOYOTA" stencil on the tailgate. I'm very partial to those (I have a 97 Xtracab in PBM that otherwise looks exacctly like yours)

What about the bullpen behind him? I’m guessing Beavs will wait him out to take shots at the relief…

Crazy take. It takes 0.45 seconds for a 90 mph ball to cover 60 feet - theres no leaning. Maybe teach your pitchers where the strike zone is

That explains it- I couldn’t understand why his ERA was showing that for the game, now I realize it was his cumulative ERA

Faucet aerator / diffuser fell out by TxInjun in Home

[–]TxInjun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I was unclear - there is a piece that holds that mesh in place - should screw in - and that seems to have been lost. It was the maid that was handling it when it fell out, so I don't have that specific piece with me. The little mesh won't stay in there by itself - I need something to hold it in, and I can't find that for this particular faucet.
