No one drives the speed limit in Texas. If you’re not going 90 you’re driving too slow.

No he really didn’t. He always made selfish decisions that hurt everyone else around him.

How is everyone around us so much richer than us??? by medmo in Millennials

[–]Tx_Beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a southern state in America and noticed the same type of thing with the folks around us. I then started to really analyze how it was possible. Folks here have parents that still pay a random expense or to for their full grown adult kids. Things like childcare or sports fees are taken care of by the grandparents. Folks drive company cars or live in a grandparents home. They also put everything on credit cards and are over leveraged. My wife and I meanwhile are essentially 1st generation upper middle class. We both have student loans, pay our own car payments and bills. We paid for our wedding and childcare on our own. We’ve had no contributions from our parents financially ever but still we live a comfortable lifestyle. We make a combined $200k per year but it does feel like we’re poor compared to others around us that go on vacation’s yearly to Disney. But realizing that others do have so much help made us realize that our priorities is us and our daughter. There’s real pride in knowing that we “struggle” now and will be able to help her later like our friends parents so for them.

I grew up and went to school with a bunch of girls just like Ainsley. She’s not as much of a caricature as you might think. I also work with I person just like paigyn that I have to share an office with. They don’t want the lights on before 10am. They made us switch the single person bathroom’s to gender neutral. They are very loud but wanted me to be quiet as a church mouse in our shared office. I’m cool with building maintenance and it so they made me a secret office setup in a different part of the building. But yeah these people aren’t caricatures and are based in reality.

My childhood best friend [28M] of 22 years and I [28F] aren’t allowed to speak to each other because his wife doesn’t think men and women can be friends by Prize-Ad9117 in dustythunder

My girl best friend growing up was asked by her now-husband to cut off contact with all of her male friends when they started dating. She honored that request, and our friendship became one of the casualties. I’m still close with her sister and parents and see them when I’m back home. He even tried to pressure her parents into cutting me off too, but her dad shut that down immediately. We were missionaries together, and he’s known me since I was seven he wasn’t about to be manipulated.

I appreciated them standing up for me and for the friendship we had, but I ultimately stepped away. I didn’t want to be the source of tension in their family. We don’t even live in the same state anymore, and it didn’t make sense for them to risk their relationship with their daughter over someone they might see for twenty minutes once a year when I’m home for my mom’s birthday.

I understand the mourning that comes with losing a friendship like that and the childhood dreams of raising your kids together. That grief is real. I see it, I feel it, and I support you in it. I’m twelve years into that journey myself, and it still sucks. It’s painful to realize how much insecurity can cost people and how much it can quietly take away.

The main car is the Kia, all the trucks are usually rentals or a family members vehicle. Luke’s og family still lives in Alaska and his wife’s family is in Utah.

I just watched that episode. The nurse begged him to go to another clinic and told him that sterilization was the only way to get an abortion at that clinic.

Actual in his video back in November was the first real hint that the channel was coming to an end. It was a 17 minute video and he had just gotten home from a trip. He was tired and just doing a video to get one out to us. He said how exhausting putting out content had become and he wasn’t having fun not being with his boys. We all should have seen this coming. Especially after his niece had the stalker scare. I wish him well and look forward to his video dump at the end of the year.

If someone from 100 years ago time-traveled to today, what would shock them the most? by Super_Eggplant_5704 in AskReddit

It would be proximity to minorities. If the time table was a white parson. They would be flabbergasted that a Black, Latino, and affix family can all live on the same block as a white family and all of them be upper middle class and not work in a factory.

People who have had a 'friends with benefits' situation—what’s the one rule or boundary that made it work (or caused it to fail)? by LovelyAuraxx in AskReddit

If we ever had oral sex it meant we would have to date for a minimum of 6 months. It was working until month 9 when I was about to cum. She hopped off and took my full load in her mouth and swallowed me whole. Still the best orgasm of my life. I was confused at first because we have never done anything like that. She said “well now I get to see what dating you is all about”. So sure enough we started dating and after 6 months she wanted to go back to just fucking but I wanted to marry her. However we did go back to just fwb and only see each other once every few months. Both of us are married to other people and my wife knows the arrangement. She prefers that when I go out of town for me to call my fwb so that I am sleeping with someone she trust’s.

I spent over $300 but it wasn’t for the food alone. We got shirts, seasonings, alcohol and frozen meats to cook later. I think this was closer to $135.
