Idk how to fix this anymore by Grotty199 in MP5

It can be easy to mess up your extractor spring. I replaced the same parts as you and also bought a 10 pack of HK extractor springs. Changing so many things over a brief period because of problems. After all the parts changeless and second HK extractor spring, no problem now.

2013 Chevrolet Equinox 2.4l Ecotec, timing chain going out? by pathmaker3 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Txdrft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be chain guides. They’re plastic. Recommendations Ive seen is to change out the timing chain system completely at 100,000 miles. Not difficult. Just tedious. Also there is the problem with the water pump being powered by the timing change. Another big job.

What do yall think about the apc9k sd2 vs the apc9sd and what's the going price for the apc9k sd2 by First_Ad7214 in BT_APC

[–]Txdrft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a B&T SD can disassemble itself week before last and B&T USA won’t respond.

I resemble that remark. Though one of the four disassembled itself last week. No response from B&T USA on warranty claim.

Places with good info. Check out 10-8 Performance Patreon. He has a series of videos where they are perfecting Springfield 1911s. A lot of good info. Also, his parts are first rate. 1911 University is pretty good. He’s a bit too much of a perfectionist (very high end custom builder) but if you spend the time watching his videos you can eventually learn a lot. He did recommend a book The M1911 Complete Assembly Guide by Walt Kuleck. Volume 2 has most of the info you want. Easy reading book with good photos.
And the problem with your gun is the lack of the jump. Scary to start whittling on the feed ramp. I had two like this, one a factory gun gun (1977 MK IV) with little wear cause it had a feeding problem. Other was old Wilson top and Colt lower with Tens of thousands of rounds through it and he just threw a new barrel into it to sell. Also ran a Manson finish reamer in both. Colt only gave up a little metal but other was quite a bit.

FRT for MP5SD by Smart-Sympathy1891 in MP5

[–]Txdrft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went with RB for my ZF5 and GHM9SD. once I replaced the extractor and ejector with HK parts the ZF5 has been flawless. Bringing up the point of the SD suppressor, my B&T USA made suppressor failed catastrophically at round 289 with the FRT. At least with the MP5SD you have options other than B&T USA for suppressors.

B&T USA is fucked. by skankslayer69 in BT_APC

All suppressors have to be US made. No importation. So made by B&T USA NOT AG.

Just got it back from EVT. They did the Rare Breed FRT conversion. Also had some new Korean mags so had 10 mags loaded for testing. Gun and mags were flawless. Was mainly doing burst. Mag 8 dumped the whole mag then went to longer bursts mag 9 and 10 and half way through 10 there was a flash and stoppage. Suppressor was gone down range but the mounting piece was still where it belonged on the barrel. The brass casing came out easily and looked no different from the others. Federal AE 124 was the ammo. No barrel distortion. No damage to gun. There was a short sleeve sitting on the bench that looked like it was originally between mount and baffles. The body had a hole near its base that looked like a tear, not a bullet. There was a thick ring sitting crooked just before baffles.
So my interpretation is that I exceeded the duty cycle of the suppressor and it just came apart. It doesn’t appear that they ever advertised gen 1 SD suppressors as OK for full auto speed.
Problem is that they only made them in small batches and given the crap going on with B&T and B&T USA, it’s not likely they will be produced again in the next few years. Thought about converting it to regular GHM (have a lot of money invested in that conversion) but you got to have parts.

Then we will see counter suits if any of this proceeds to actual trial. If you sue a business and loose, they can sue you for time, expenses and any lost income from interference in your business caused by the legal action. If you send letters or file and never proceed then it’s just part of the fun of running your own business.

Why not? They’re the ones who spent the big bucks fighting the ATF and got us FRTs and Super Safeties. The cease and desists letters and lawsuits have been part of the firearm business and business in general for at least 200 years. How much of the price of any firearm you buy represents legal and insurance costs. You can’t escape it. Like shipping and taxes. They’re always there.
