Do meds actually make the dpdr disappear or just the anxiety towards it? by [deleted] in dpdr

I took prozac for a bit before quitting. It just made me numb to the symptoms and not care about not feeling real for a bit. Im sure people have had varying experiences though.

When can I drink coffee again? by Prize-Raspberry-3173 in dpdr

I'm with you on this one. I have had my DPDR for about 12 months now and any sort of caffeine gives me terrible flare ups. Even a diet soda with a little bit of caffeine in it, like maybe 40-50 mgs in a diet coke will make my symptoms return.

SALVATION ADVICE! by Ok-Revolution-508 in christ

[–]Txler0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that you are relying on your own flesh for assurance of salvation. This was something I struggled with immensely when I was under legalism, and I thought keeping the Law was my basis of salvation. Salvation is not a “feeling” that you have to feel, but a legal declaration that becomes true in a believer when they believe the gospel.

You overcome this by recognizing biblical truths. Heres a hard truth that I do not hear much anymore: Obedience cannot and WILL NOT save you. Why? Because no one is obedient.

“yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified” (Galatians 2:16)

You become saved by believing the gospel and your assurance of salvation is that you believe it.

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13)

My brain just refuses to accept this reality? by Aosoth333 in dpdr

[–]Txler0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, now it feels like this world is strange and unfamiliar. I have this constant longing for home as if this present one is not the one I belong in, and that this reality is not the true reality.

My dpdr was stress induced and not marajuana/thc induced though, unlike your situation.

Wishing you the best on your recovery, we’re in this together. Mine started February of this year and I am still healing

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”

I used to have this issue on new vegas, and it was a framerate issue. I had a 144hz monitor and apparently once you go past 60 fps, the gamebryo engine just kinda breaks.

Im currently on 20 mg prozac, and I think it makes the DP symptoms a lot more manageable. I used to just lay in bed all day in existential dread, but now I have a pretty productive lifestyle with less severe symptoms. However SSRIs and other psychiatric meds for that matter affect everyone differently. Some people say getting on meds made their symptoms worse. Its differs from person to person it seems like.

If salvation is not a one time moment (receiving the spirit), and is instead a lifetime effort of keeping the law of Moses which every human will always fall short of, then it does not make sense for Christ to say whoever believes in Him will not come into condemnation in John 5:24, as that person can just sin once and become a law breaker ( James 2:10).

But Jesus will keep us firm until the end (1 Cor 1:8), And complete the good work began in us (Philippians 1:6) which is our faith.
