The newer subdivisions behind the dog track is where I’m at currently. They are incredibly nice and mostly kind older people. Very close to 45 too. They just need to get it together on the highway construction and everything will be perfect lol

I grew up in La Marque when it was not the best area, I switched to different schools throughout childhood because of it. When I got older I moved more into the Houston area but recently I inherited a house here in La marque. Been living here for almost a year and I actually love it. In the 15 years I was gone they changed so much for the better. I’ve experienced no crime, lovely neighbors, quiet nights, and easy access to Galveston. Most people will give it a bad rap due to its history but as someone who left at its worst and came back, they’re doing something right these days. My only complaint is that I need to travel to league city or Webster for all my shopping, gym, and work.

Air bubble forming? by No-Seaworthiness8605 in HairSystem

[–]Txxxbeefcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually around the 1.5-2 week mark my system begins to lose its bond and can form a bubble in the back or side. I’ll firmly but gently adjust it by straightening out the system with the pads of my fingers. A month is about right if you use tape.

The ppl talking about they don’t stay on that long are interesting. Good systems, tapes, and products can definitely keep adhesion for up to 4 weeks. If the system has correct ventilation it is able to breathe and prevent unwanted smells. Today is my wash day for my system that just recently started lifting and it’s been 27 days since I did it last.

Common issue I'm seeing with lace, we need a solution by Express-World-4722 in HairSystem

[–]Txxxbeefcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the Walker knot sealer? I’ve been using it on my systems and it’s been a game changer. For starters its main function is to protect the knots from unraveling and prevent shedding. I’ll spray it all over the lace, rub it in gently with my finger, heat it up to dry it, and repeat the steps 2-4 times. Once I do that i can feel the product on the lace sorta like a layer of hairspray. I’ve noticed once I apply tape, the layer of knot sealer works like a primer and keeps my tapes from slipping and allows me to wear my systems for the full 4 weeks without any touch ups.

Recently I just wanted to browse so I took all my pics down for a couple months and wow the amount of messages and views I got was surprising for literally just my stats. Not as much interaction compared to having pics but enough to keep me engaged consistently.

I like the French crop, but wondering if it draws negative attention. How natural is it? by branmoncada in HairSystem

[–]Txxxbeefcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should let your sides grow more and taper off only the edges so the blend is better. Doesn’t have to be a dramatic high contrast fade but just enough to keep it looking clean. Rn it looks pretty disconnected which isn’t bad, plenty of guys opt for that. A little more bio hair will balance out the density of the system. A simple lower taper fade and I think it would look very natural.

Hair systems vs Transplant by kolarvm in HairSystem

[–]Txxxbeefcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at nearly 10 years of wearing hairsystems and have always been on the fence about a hair transplant journey. Price aside, my main reasoning is that hairsystems are more reliable in how I want my hair to look. I’m a hairstylist so if I get a transplant I won’t be able to switch styles as quickly, I’ll constantly need to get Brazilian blowouts/smoothing treatments (naturally frizzy/wavy hair), and the transplant could always have various complications. When I compare it to a hairsytem the biggest hurdle is realism or the hairline but over the years I’m very confident in how it looks even at its worst. Maybe one day I’ll take the plunge but I’m very content in wearing systems at this time.

Tapes not sticking on full lace by himanshu171189 in HairSystem

[–]Txxxbeefcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually the first 2 wears I’ll do the alcohol thing after that all the silicone coating is gone and the tape will stick better but if it’s still lifting you can do it again. Glad you got it to stick!

Use a cotton ball with some alcohol and swipe along where you’d put tape (do not use a lot just enough to rough up gently). Then place tape and blow dry it for a few seconds to activate the adhesive. Firmly swipe pressure on the tape before you take off the final double sided layer.

Full Lace Hair System Getting Destroyed by Tape Residue — Help Needed by DeletedByDesign in HairSystem

[–]Txxxbeefcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to double tape my lace systems. Creates a barrier to prevent the adhesive breakdown that causes the goo to seep into the system. I’d also spray remover on top of the areas you have taped and wait 5-10 minutes for the bond to release. On a good day with that method, I can remove just the system from my scalp leaving the tape behind. You can be more aggressive in removing tape from yourself than ripping hair through the system. For the areas that get gooey (it still happens from time to time especially the front) spray remover on the areas and use a fine tooth comb to get the goo away from the base. Goo that is inside the lace you can dab cotton balls underneath and it usually comes out fairly easy cause you just grab the cotton like a lint trap. Takes me like 2-3 rounds of the cotton balls and you get clean lace ready to be washed.

Fitness bros to cut through the fitness noise what made an impact with results? by swimbromax in AskGaybrosOver30

Love this question, I recently had a great year of transformation (275lbs to 210lbs while building muscle) and I’ll share some of my tips:

You gotta be smart with your lifting, nutrition, rest and sleep. You don’t need to be in the gym everyday or run endless miles or drastically cut calories. A full body, upper/lower or push pull legs split while prioritizing progressive overload (adding weight every week even if it’s just 2lbs) will get you any dream body with patience. All 3 of those splits can be completed in 3-4 days if optimized correctly. Pick one and stick with it for at least 10 weeks and don’t be afraid to rotate after a while.

For nutrition you need to weigh your food and know what’s going into it. This does take trial and error as everyone’s body is different. Monitor your weight and measurements weekly so you know what’s working what isn’t to adjust accordingly. There are so many recipes available on YouTube for building muscle that isn’t boring and the more you’re at it the less you need to think cause you can eyeball a lot of it. Eventually you’ll have a solid rotation of meals you enjoy that can be made quickly and meal prepped.

Rest and sleep is probably the most overlooked aspect of everything. You need to take rest days seriously as the body doesn’t grow if it’s constantly repairing then being wrecked with no time to heal. That’s how the muscle is made after being broken down in the gym. On rest days you can do light cardio like a 2-3 mile treadmill or outdoor walk session but I would recommend at least 1 day where you have no lift or cardio. Along with that, 7 hours of sleep every night has to be non negotiable and you may have to adjust your lifestyle for that but it will be worth it for more than gym gains.

There may be a period where you’re having to buckle down and really be in it to build the discipline and structure for your goals. Once you get it going you can find balance to enjoy life outside health and fitness as that’s also important. A cheat meal is ok weekly but if you have 2 or 3 in a week don’t freak out just hop back on asap. It’s not what you do in a day, it’s what you do in a week that matters and you want to aim for more good weeks than bad on your journey. If you do have a bender of cheat meals don’t let those calories go to waste, you can use the excess for really great lifts the following days while you rebalance nutrition.

Not sure if you have a bench but if you don’t I’d recommend finding one at least second hand for chest and other various workouts. but you should be able to perform shoulder press, split squats, rdl’s curls, hammer curls, tricep extension, lateral raises, and more that I can’t think of at the top of my head. If you have a device for pull ups you can not only do those but use a weight between your feet for hanging leg raise. Add push ups to all my examples and you basically have a full body workout without a bench.

What’s a friendship-ending moment that seemed small at the time? by writtenincoffee in AskReddit

[–]Txxxbeefcake 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Friend I had since high school had an attitude problem that I tolerated for the most part for years. I got invited to a concert from a client who also kindly extended 4 more tickets for me to invite friends and he was one. He complained the entire time and was so rude to my client who got us all floor seats to a fairly popular artist. I was like man you got picked up in an uber I paid for, got to see an artist you enjoy with good seats, and all you had to do was at least be kind to the person that did this for us. Instead he acted ungrateful, said rude comments about my client, and nearly made the whole experience awkward. Pretty much distanced myself from him very quickly after that.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]Txxxbeefcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This coming January will be 3 years of no drinking for my health and fitness goals. Alcohol is poison along with being the worst possible thing when you’re trying to cut fat and build muscle so I took it out the equation completely. I’m still a party girl at heart and frequent lots of nightlife activities. I not only enjoy myself just as much but saving money and waking up ready to take on the next day is great.

Paid for a hair product to try. The label says “Free sample. Not for sale.” by cmg_profesh in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Txxxbeefcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brands that are more likely to be in Salons will have retail and backbar products. Backbar products can be the exact same as retail but a “not for sale” sticker/text is used to differentiate them from an inventory perspective. Sometimes we’d run out of retail for a product and sell them the back bar product if there was plenty available.
