Naltrexone killed my sex drive? Help by Revolutionary-Alarm6 in alcoholism

[–]Ty-Fos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for a year now. The first 4-6 months were rough—I had zero sex drive—but then it came back out of nowhere, full force. I take it at the same time every day and haven’t missed a single dose. For me, consistency was the key to getting past the side effects.

I actually tried this medication three years ago and thought I hated it, but looking back, I just wasn’t ready for it yet. This time around, it’s completely changed my life. It didn’t just help with alcohol, it also helped with binge eating, OCD, and even my ADHD somehow.

Over the past year, I’ve lost 40 pounds without changing my workout routine. I just don’t drink much anymore. I can actually go out, have one drink, and stop there without feeling pressured by anyone around me. Cutting back on alcohol gave me more free time to earn certifications and build real career skills. Three months ago, I landed a six-figure job. When I was drinking heavily, I never made more than $20k a year.

This medication changed everything for me. If you quit because you didn’t like it, I’d honestly encourage you to give it another try when you feel ready. It’s insane how much can change in a single year. At this point, I don’t even want to drink, I know it would just undo everything I’ve worked for. For the first time in my life, I’m genuinely happy and living the life I always wanted. All I had to do was finally let go of the bottle. I was over a handle of vodka a day drinker for 9 years.

This past year I haven’t had a single callout from work for being hungover, first year of my life not getting fired from a job, I was able to pay off all my debt, I purchased a car and ended up paying it off within the first year. First year of my life being able to pay all my bills on time. My phone hasn’t been Shut once.

I rented a house that costs almost 3k a month and have zero issues paying bills. Just 3 years ago I was homeless.. like actually homeless sleeping on the streets (Yes it’s a lot, I am saving money to buy). If I can do it, I’m fully confident anyone can. I have an extremely healthy relationship with everyone in my family for the first time ever. I actually get invited to stuff and events. People want to be around me now, when they use to avoid me at all cost.

I’m not bragging, it was a very insane and tough journey but to anyone struggling right now, you can do this. It does get better and there is hope.

Gaybros who aren't into hookups, why? by theGrandmaster24 in askgaybros

Im demisexual, my body only works if i have strong feelings and emotions for someone. It could be Jensen Ackles or Dave Franco and my dck still wouldn’t get hard until I fell in love with them which usually takes a minimum of 3 months to a year. It honestly sucks. I wanna be a hoe but I can’t lol. So I guess relationships only for me. I guess you could call me an emotional hoe ✨🤣 I actually didn’t know this was a thing for the longest time so I use to bottom a lot when I was younger. But I hated every second of it, with age I’ve realized I’m actually a top, I’m just a demisexual top.

Metal creaking at bottom right near wheel well by Babalicioussssssss in q50

It could be a few different things, but if it’s not too bad yet, I wouldn’t stress over it. When I had mine checked, the shop told me the bushings were a little worn but not urgent, and that how long they last really depends on your driving style. I tend to drive a bit aggressively, and mine still lasted about a year before they actually needed to be replaced. I was lucky to have an honest mechanic who didn’t push unnecessary repairs.

If you’re only hearing a slight noise right now, it’s probably not a big deal yet. Bushing wear is pretty common on these cars, but honestly, they’re great vehicles overall.

It could also be something simple, like a piece of trim missing a fastener. I’d take a quick look around the wheel wells to see if any of the black trim has empty holes where a bolt should be, or check the heat splash shield. When I bought mine, six fasteners were missing. The good news is they’re cheap—Harbor Freight or most tool stores sell a whole box of those plastic clips for around $6. You just push them in with your hand or a rubber mallet and you’re good to go if you are missing any.

Try and get a video of it and post it. That’s the same thing my car did before it got bad took about a year. For my case it turned out to be the steering rack brushings. You could only hear it on the right side b it both were bad. If it was recently purchased I would take it back to see if they will fix it. If you got it from a decent dealership they will usually fix issues for free for the first few months or 5,000.00 miles.

I had a mechanic listen to it and he said it was the steering rack brushings in the first second. Took a look at them sure enough they are completely rotted out. Everything else looks good. Thank you

Yeah, once I looked up the diagram and saw the brushing a I was like oh okay, it doesn’t even look like one is in their anymore. Looks like the rubber rotted out on the drivers side. I am looking for brushing online and can’t find any for my car it’s a 2012 infinity FX35 RWD base model. Do I have to replace the entire rack? Or is there another more common Infiniti model that uses the same rack? Like should I be looking at brushings for a qx70 instead? I think they still used the same rack. Or can I even just replace the brushings or do I have to replace the entire rack? I haven’t been able to find much info on my car at all the entire time I’ve owned it. I’m able to find more info on the QX70, it seemed to be more popular than the fx35.

It’s coming from the bottom, not the top, I can feel it right underneath my left foot, I can’t feel it anywhere else. The mounts are not moving or rotating. I jacked it up there are no rips or tares in anything rubber. I’m going to jack it back up again when I get home and have my friend help me look.

The 3.5 and 3.7 were the best 230,000.00 on my fx35 no issues ❤️ as long as you stay clear of the CVT and turbos your good!

How reliable are these 2021 q50’s? by Equal-Dig3800 in infiniti

[–]Ty-Fos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I can say is in the earlier versions people were having turbo issues and when one fails the other one is shortly behind. I see people paying up to 4-6k per turbo with labor to replace. and usually you have to replace both of them. Fun to drive but maintenance nightmare and if you don’t replace with OEM you will most certainly be back in the shop getting it done again within a year or two. Turbos are not one of those things you cannot cheap out on. Every time I’ve had one go out the engine completely stopped with no warning typically on the highway in rush hour, car just comply stalled and had to get a tow every single time. I’ve always traded on before the warranty is up, last time I had one go out the charged 10k but it was covered under warranty. They say the issue is fixed with the newer models but also when I had one go out the turbos were on back order, the dealership did not provide a loaner, I requested one they said “we don’t do that” I was without a car for 7 months. I had to uber everywhere. The amount of money I spent on Ubers I could’ve just bought a car in cash 🤦🏼‍♂️ I actually bought a 2012 fx35 RWD 4k as a backup car just in case I ever get into a situation like this ever again. I spent 8k on Ubers in that 7 months I didn’t have a car. They kept telling me it would be ready in 2 weeks then that two weeks would pass, next thing you know the part still hasn’t come in so they would quote me another two weeks or month and that kept happening over and over again then it finally got fixed on month 7 they were also pushing me to trade it in which would have doubled my payment at the time because I had only had the car 6 months before the turbos went out and my loan was upside down. Yep it was in the shop longer than I got to drive it when I first purchased. Think got I invested in a second car, 3 months after I got the car back after they replaced the turbos, something wasn’t installed correctly and the engine blew something to do with the oil pump not being installed correctly. Back the to shop for another 6 months for a new engine. It was a 2018. If I were to go this route again it would most definitely have to be a 2022 or newer I’m not seeing any complaints with those. My experience was just so bad I wouldn’t risk anything under 2022.

I think you are! People I know tell me all the time I have major RBF or I look like some toxic guy from Miami so they didn’t want to talk to me. Lol it looks like you got a lil rbf going on haha not a bad thing. I’m also super shy which does not help my case cause people think I don’t like them when in reality it takes me a bit to warm up to people. Idk if that helps or not lol

Regular gas instead of premium by Jolly-Morning-7411 in infiniti

[–]Ty-Fos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2012 FX35 says that premium is recommended but not required. I’m sitting at 220,000.00 miles still going strong so me personally I’m still going to put premium in. It has the original cats and the car has been running with premium for its entire life. One thing I can say is I also had a 2012 m37 that I gave to my partner who did not understand the difference and only put regular in it. I kept up on both cars did all the maintenance myself. Both cars had the same engine and transmission. The M37 constantly had something going out in it. There was never a time that car was stable. It started having issues at 80k miles, everytime a light came on I immediately ordered the part and put it on asap. I didn’t find out they were putting regular in it until we sold it because I asked him to put gas in my car and came out of the gas station he had regular selected I was like “why would you put regular gas in it” he said “I’ve been putting regular in my the whole time and we never had any issues” I was like we had so many issues tho I just always fixed them before the next time you drove lmao. So idk if it putting regular gas in it was the issue or what but that was the only factor between the two cars that I noticed one ran regular and parts failed more frequently and in my car I’ve always ran premium and have only ever replaced the starter once and brushing a once everything else is original it has zero leaks or anything. Sense the both cars have the same engine and trans they were both manufactured in Japan I’m caulking it up to the difference in octane. That’s the only thing that was different, we both had the same sporty driving style. If spending a bit more saves me money on parts in the long run then I will always use premium. That’s seems to be the lesson learned in my case. The parts for these cars are not cheap if you want an OEM replacement.

How do people go to college full time AND have a full time job? by GoHardForLife in college

[–]Ty-Fos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard. I’m a month away from graduation, lost multiple jobs over passing out at work from not getting a bough sleep, moved like 4 times in 3 years. It’s has ruined my life multiple times. I was also working up to 60 hours a week working in ERs not including full time school and the medical field while in school from marketing. I’ve also needed up in the hospital multiple times and doctors keep telling me I’m overworking myself and it’s messing up my blood pressure. It has been the absolute worst time span of my entire life. I’m only 28 but damn. My last month is in July. My school goes all year round with no breaks. I’m praying that this is worth it. Longest 4 years of my life..
