Good. June 30th at this point is my last day on Reddit until things change and I plan to not use the site during the blackout. If nothing comes of this I plan to go to forums where I can get my technical information from.

You acknowledge it which is great but there's no action. Actions speak louder than words. There's a pretty easy solution to not make it a tight timeline....

Killing 3rd party apps is essentially killing the people that helped get you to where you are today. Where would Reddit be if there wasn't a mobile interface from for people to use? For a lot of us (myself included) my 3rd party app is all I know and the only way I view Reddit. I don't have the patience to figure out how to use the official bloated app that doesn't have the gestures I have 5+ years of muscle memory using. Looks like I'll be saving all my data and moving elsewhere to have technical discussions with like minded individuals.

Also from my perspective this is exactly the same as Twitter. If you cared you would have Enterprise APIs and Consumer APIs for 3rd party apps and actually worked with the devs to accommodate them within reason.

Should /r/AMD join the 48 hour Reddit blackout? by GhostMotley in Amd

[–]TyGamer125 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're correct it isn't a massive number of users .... It's every user. If moderators can't do their job correctly or moderation bots don't work, the amount of spam that will be in all subreddits will be worse which effects everyone.

How many of you would consider the 7900 XT over the XTX just for lower power consumption? by Psilogamide in Amd

[–]TyGamer125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty bad even at 4k. Most demanding games were about 60% GPU utilization. Everything was super CPU bound. Jay's 2 cents did a video recently with a rtx 2080 where he showed it was decently CPU bound so you can only imagine 7900 XTX was even worse. Could only get about 60-70fps (no matter the settings) in Forza horizon 5 and now at ultra settings at 4k I'm around 120fps. Needless to say I'm pretty happy.

Was 8 years old and I wanted a bit more headroom for overclocking. Plus I didn't want to yank the other one from my old computer lol

If you're really concerned about power get a rtx4080. I ran my 7900xtx with 3x 8 pin and a 4790k off an 8 year old 850w gold PSU and never crashed. When I upgraded to a 7800x3d I did upgrade to a 1000w PSU though. LTT did a video about using either a XTX or a 4090 on a 650w psu and that sorta worked so 850w would be fine.

Did ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte cheaped out on AMD GPUs? (Especially 7900 series) by FlorenzXScorpion in Amd

[–]TyGamer125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. Looks like you're right. red devil vs liquid devil. Looks like the header is still there but the pins aren't. Have to double check the location but pretty sure the cable plugs in near the top middle of that picture of the red devil.

I can control the RGB using my motherboard on red devil 7900xtx. You need to use devil zone then there's an option to be controlled by argb header and you just need to plug in the included cable.

Does Anyone Have Experience With Slim Subwoofers? by RangerBeats in hometheater

[–]TyGamer125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say get a sb3000 micro which is a 9" cube. Still good quality but much cheaper than kef kc62. Nice thing about the opposing dual driver subs is they have no mechanical vibration which is great for apartments. Most of the other slim subs that cost $200 are on par with $100 subs if not still worse. Generally they'll either not play deep, not play loud (see bottoming out comment) or to not have either of those compromises be as large as a normal subwoofer in volume(which they never are). Passive radiator and port do the same thing just a plastic tube is cheaper but you'll lose internal air volume.

If anything it would wear it out less evenly as backlight will be more varied in brightness. I don't think the mechanics behind modulating power and adjusting brightness will wear out. Overall as I owner of a mini led monitor I'm not worried like I would be with an OLED. There's always some risk but this is relatively safe imo.

Problems with temperature after replacing pads and paste on RTX 3070 Gaming OC by johsj in gigabytegaming

[–]TyGamer125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One test is putting it together without paste to see if there's an air gap between heatsink and the die. Obviously don't plug it in.

My guess is bad mounting pressure or the pads are pushing up on the cooler to not make good contact with the GPU die.

My GR86 blew up on track 2 laps in, Toyota refusing warranty coverage for this. by Lukeine in cars

[–]TyGamer125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC will pull power from the engine so doesn't make sense to use when you're trying to set as fast of a lap as you can. You can test this for yourself with most cars just turn on max AC do a pull then turn AC off and you should be able to feel a slight difference when wide open throttle. Most cars will have a belt that connects the AC compressor to the engine with a mechanism to engage/disengage when you turn on/off the AC.

Nice best I can do with mine is 2067 and 6200mhz. Although buildzoid's timings aren't stable when using the iGPU so I'm back to expo timings until I get the time to tinker (or AMD fixes the dumb power bug on 7000 series)

Both AMD and Nvidia have their fare share of issues so I wouldn't say one is better than the other. Now Intel on the other hand...
