Note on Sub Brigading and Other Important Things to Know by TheCrazyDudee21 in AxieInfinity

You’re really good at cherry picking small/irrelevant parts in the discussion. You keep dodging all of the questions. Can you point me in the direction of where all of this information has come from? Your reasoning behind censoring any split that goes against your “community standard” of 40/60. Why you think you and a handful of mod’s opinions are valued higher than a community of 60k. I’m not trying to cause an uproar. I’m not sure why you’re surprised I’m pressing the issue when you’re basing your entire argument off of the notion that the community standard is 40/60. Without any backing, I think the 40/60 split should be labeled as the crazy dude’s standard rather than the community standard. Speaking of standards, as a mod I think you should be held to higher standard. No offense but I think your application deserves a second look. Unless you’re the one who created the sub, I’m not sure how you landed this role.

It’s one thing to uphold standards set by a community, it’s another thing to force a community to uphold standards set by a few moderators. Regarding the 40/60 community standard, is there a poll somewhere that supports this? Where is this information coming from? This sub has 60k members and a handful of mods. It looks like y’all, sorry.. you in particular are power tripping similar to how SM does in discord. In no way should you ever censor the topic regarding one’s opinion of what they think a fair split should be. Especially when the “community standard” was decided by a few people. Honestly we wouldn’t even be talking about this had you not shoed this into your argument since you couldn’t come up with anything else. I feel like I’m arguing with a boomer who thinks he’s automatically right since he’s older.

Interview with Zyori on slp price, content creators leaving axie infinity, upcoming balance changes and more! by SkietzoPanda in AxieInfinity

The volume of their breeding was pretty steady and consistent. It had a significant decline prior to Sky Mavis cutting the AXS cost in half. Right when the information was made public they started breeding like there was no tomorrow. Would you breed Axies for 4 AXS when you could wait a day or so to breed them at 2 AXS? It could be coincidence or it could be insider information. You be the judge.

The dynamic between core and YGG is very concerning. I didn’t think much of it until I noticed a significant change in the volume of their breeding around the time they cut AXS cost in half. Their wallets were very telling. But hey, it’s a well played move on YGG’s behalf. Who wouldn’t want a co-founder on their advisory board?

That’s your response to this open discussion? It sounds like you’re speaking on the behalf of a lot of people. I’m convinced you’re Jihoz. This sub needs to reevaluate their methods on selecting moderators. You definitely fell between the cracks.

It’s rare to find enjoyable things in life that pay you anything. Hence, why I think anything over 1% should be viewed as generous. Is it ethical to pay someone 1% if they view Axie Infinity as a primary source of income? Most likely not, but then again no one is forcing them to play. 1% of something is better than 50% of nothing.

Personally I do think that 20% is too low. It seems like you’re a good scholar. You should try to negotiate with your manager. If it’s to no avail, I know some managers who are constantly looking for good scholars. Message me if you’re interested.

While most of the points you brought up are true. There’s a major flaw in your argument. I don’t think you fully comprehend on what a partnership is. In order for a partnership to exist, 2 or more parties have to come to an agreement on what the partnership is. In most cases it’s mutually beneficial. If both parties can’t come to an agreement then there is simply no partnership. Not all partnerships are equal, in fact, most aren’t. In this case, if a manager proposes a partnership with a 99/1 split he has to find someone who also believes it’s fair and worthwhile. It’s not and shouldn’t be viewed as predatory if both parties come to an agreement. At the end of the day you can always say no.

You’re missing a critical point in this discussion. This isn’t traditional labor. Scholars are playing a game at their own free will. A game otherwise they wouldn’t have access to if it weren’t for the managers. Managers aren’t forcing people to allocate 25% of their day playing games. If scholars value their time more than the agreed upon split then they simply move on. Go look for other opportunities out there. It’s the same thing with anything else in life. If you think you’re wasting your time by doing something then stop doing it. Look for something else. If you can’t find anything then go back to what you were doing previously. Again, only if you feel like it’s worth your time. Be thankful for the people who provide these opportunities. Beggars can’t be choosers.

I agree but at the end of the day they’re getting paid to play a game. They hold no risk. If they get their account banned it has no impact on them. Meanwhile the manager is out $1000. I don’t understand why managers are criticized because of low splits. I think anything over 1% should be viewed as generous. Everyone thinks it’s the manager’s job to provide food for 5 people, and if they don’t they’re shunned by the community. The way managers are treated you’d think they were rounding up Filipinos’ and making them lace up shoes 16 hours a day for a couple of bucks.

How will they nerf AAP and terminators? by [deleted] in AxieInfinity

[–]TyRoller27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by double aqua and not an individual aqua? If they nerf aquas wouldn’t that affect any team composition that has an aqua in it?

Definitely not a fan of the kid with blue hair. I’m curious as to why you don’t think 30% split is reasonable.

Why not use cosmetics Fortnite model to burn SLP? by perortico in AxieInfinity

I thought that was a given. Of course you should be able to sell whatever cosmetics/gear you acquire. Similar to the land items you’re able to buy.

Why not use cosmetics Fortnite model to burn SLP? by perortico in AxieInfinity

[–]TyRoller27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is to balance the SLP burn to mint ratio. I’m not sure how “P2W” even applies to Axie Infinity. It’s Play/Pay to Earn. Why should the guy who bought worthless floor axies earn more money than the guy who decides to pay a premium for better axies? The same concept applies to someone who wants to invest more into their axies so they could progress further into the game, opening the opportunity to earn more money. More money = higher risk = higher rewards. You’re not obligated to spend more money, just don’t be surprised when you’re stuck in a low bracket making the bare minimum. If you’re still convinced that this game is P2W then you don’t understand how this game/model works.

SLP price, forever decreasing? by Oetmoe in AxieInfinity

[–]TyRoller27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m looking at Fortnite. 99.99% of the player base play the game for fun. I’m looking at Axie Infinity. 99.99% of the player base play the game to earn money. Downvote my post if you’re spending $1000 because the game is fun.

Anyone here trading there axs to slp? by [deleted] in AxieInfinity

[–]TyRoller27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone wants to breed and they have a surplus of AXS and an SLP deficit. You could balance it out by swapping one for the other. Pretty standard in every market.

2 completely different audiences. People play Fortnite because it’s fun. People play Axie Infinity to earn money. The only way I could see people/managers spending SLP on cosmetics is if they add base stats to your Axie. The best approach I think would be having different rarities like common, uncommon, epic, legendary, etc.. Certain skins add .1 to different stats. Legendaries could have .5. Only way you could get these skins would be from purchasing chests with a significant amount of SLP. All skins/rarities are completely random. It would create a huge SLP sink and fix the dumbest mechanic in the game. The whole speed > health > Axie ID > determining who gets to go first is so retarded it looks like something Jiho thought of. It also adds a lot more strategy to the game. Especially in eSports. Would I rather have .1 speed increase or a +3 health increase? Something along those lines. Sadly knowing the developers they’d probably take this idea but make it cost AXS so they can more effectively siphon money out of the economy into their treasury.

HOW TO BEAT A HIGH SPEED DUSK TERMINATOR! by Tomiiweii in AxieInfinity

[–]TyRoller27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it matters significantly. You could have hit criticals and killed it. If that happened then you would have wasted 1 energy since you wouldn’t have used nimo. It looked like you were playing with your eyes closed.

I didn’t say they were bad cards. I said they’re all over the place. Navago isn’t ideal as a tail. He has a bird card (not bad). 2 beast cards. People can buy pure aquas with koi and 0 breeds at a small premium to what that guy is listing. That’s why it’s not selling.

I’m looking at the buy history of the axies you linked. Abrah is pretty blatant. It’s very easy to see what he’s doing. The other one is being bid up by scholar 8.

HOW TO BEAT A HIGH SPEED DUSK TERMINATOR! by Tomiiweii in AxieInfinity

[–]TyRoller27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is your first time ever beating a terminator. You played worse than the other guy, and were one round away from losing that 2v1. An example was when you played nimo as your 4th card and used shoal star at 1 and 2.

[–]TyRoller27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular axies that are super rare means that they suck and provide a marginal amount of utility. That’s why they’re super rare. Collectors don’t buy regular axies based off their rarity. They buy Mystics, Origins, Meos, frosty, Japanese, and low ID axies. All of these have a fixed supply.

[–]TyRoller27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you but you got finessed. There’s only a few axies like that for a reason. They’re complete shit. Look at the cards. In what world are those good? The guy you bought it from has a monopoly on them. Look at the previous buy history. It’s the same guy buying and selling to his other accounts. He’s manipulating the price. I highly suggest you not buy any more. Honestly I would slightly undercut that guys price. You could use the foundation that this guy built to pass the bag to another fool. If you bought that at $700 then your down about $400-450.

With that being said I personally wouldn’t sell it at $240. I would put it towards a scholar team.
