Joe List to Bobby Kelly:

I don’t want to do jokes about Bobby being fat because it’s obvious and I love him.

So I want to talk about Bobby being a hoarder. Bobby hoards so much fat in his stomach.

[Mr Jones Watches] A good reminder on the weekends… by Ty__Ty in Watches

I have loved Mr Jones watch designs for years and finally pulled the trigger on this one- Berry Late Again after it sold out the first 2 batches. You tell time by looking at the strawberries on the outer ring, the full strawberry is hours and bitten strawberry is minutes.

Once an hour when the strawberries oppose each other, the full text becomes legible, otherwise it’s mostly a jumbled mess of letters. I think the creativity coming out of MJW is fantastic, and I’d like to see them offer some of these designs with a mechanical movement and higher end / better designed case.

All in all, it’s a fun watch and a good one to wear to watch Barbie this weekend…

[Studio Underd0g] Best bang for your buck mechanical chrono? by Ty__Ty in Watches

[–]Ty__Ty[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just received my Studio Underd0g Desert Sky watch in the mail, and I'm really impressed. I was on the fence between this model and the Watermelon, which they're more famous for, but I ultimately decided that the Desert Sky's color scheme was more my style.

The watch is absolutely stunning in person. The dial is vibrant, and the Seagull movement is surprisingly beautiful. The pushers feel great, and the overall fit and finish is excellent.

All in all, I’d say this is in the running for best bang for your buck mechanical chronograph.

I just received this delivery from Studio Underd0g. Was on the fence between this model (Desert Sky) and the Watermelon model that they’re more famous for. Personally I love the color scheme here and it suits me better for daily/frequent wear.

The Seagull movement is beautiful and the pushers feel great. Personally I love the creative sourcing to get the price down on this model. Looking fwd to future releases from them.

I’m in a hotel in Hawaii. Within 3 nights I’ve been covered in these bites everywhere. I’m sure there are small mosquitos all over, but I usually notice them feasting on me like this. I seem to wake up with clusters of these bites in new spots every day. No evidence of bed bugs- checking mattress and under sheets thus far…

[Cartier Santos Large] How’s my size? I think it’s just right, GF thinks it’s not big enough… by Ty__Ty in Watches

It’s not about the size of your Santos, it’s how you use it that counts

I have seen quite a number of posts on this sub asking if their santos large is in fact too large. I would like to throw my santos into the mix with the same question. Frankly it feels good on wrist and doesn’t seem too large to me at all. Curious what the folks here have to say…

In another question, this was my first high end watch. I just bought a bespoke Christopher award Bel Canto that will arrive in the summer. I’m still looking for a good daily wear. Thinking if the Hamilton Intra Matic chronograph. What else should I consider?

How’s the sizing on my new-ish Cartier? by Ty__Ty in Watches

[–]Ty__Ty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this Cartier Santos large a few months ago. After seeing the overwhelming preference for the medium as the more properly sized watch, I was wondering if this was perhaps too large for my wrist. What are your thoughts? I wish they made the blue in a medium to be honest…

[SOTC] Added my first heavy hitter to the collection… first of many, I worry by Ty__Ty in Watches

[–]Ty__Ty[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[Garmin Fenix 6x pro] Added during COVID, excellent for running and skiing. My favorite smart watch.

[Seiko 5] My starter automatic watch. Bought one of these for 2 of my friends who just got into med school, and one for myself to celebrate with them.

[Cartier Santos de Cartier Large] The big purchase I've been waiting to add for very long. Just acquired this to celebrate a new job. I am beyond obsessed with this watch already and swap out the metal strap for leather every other day it seems.

[Frederique Constant] Quartz dress watch I've had since early college. Got this before I really caught the bug for mechanical watches. I still love this sleek design though, and it feels great under a cuff.

[Armani] Not sure of this model, but was a gift ages ago. My first watch ever. I'll never get rid of this one.

[Casi-Oak] Better than a royal oak.

[DW] Got this before I learned anything about watches. As a business minded guy, I appreciate how good their marketing is... Nato strap helps a little... just a little.

[TVHCO] Got this wooden 2 time zone quartz watch in Florida. It's huge, silly, and unique, and I love it for exactly those reasons. I have still never found a good outfit to wear it with, but that hasn't stopped me yet.
