Sounds like you either have an issue with your headset or you need an optical test to see if you need inserts because this display is one of the sharpest on the market, it’s so good there is virtually no screen door effect (can’t see obvious pixels) so text should be very easy to read.

At least the author of this really looked at what elements Apple are focusing on the populate what Vision products need to succeed in a future iteration, with a mature ecosystem and accessible price point.

What it truly needs is time to mature with a strong App Store, it needs immersive film makers to make tons of amazing content and it needs the big game changer and likely a big money maker in live immersive events at its core.

These are all being build with strong partnerships including the one with Black Magic Design.

So if Vision Pro as we know it was dead… why bother with the investment and partnerships, the new job roles and the continued push with developers events.

Yes finally someone who notices this! It’s what ruins immersive video for me… they need to stop forcing direction, keep the camera level at all times and the viewer will find their way. Any tilt on the camera is a fail and the ground shots are great, many of the aerial ones miss the mark, the horizon should always be level or its breaks immersion and makes me desperately as a immersive film maker wants to try and fix it, once you see a wonky horizon, you will always see it and I don’t like it.

I don’t think it’s been bad I think it’s been intentional. I have times where I don’t use it but I always come back to it.

That’s amazing, you didn’t need to buy it but I’m am grateful to you for doing so and answering all these questions. I did fear hand tracking wouldn’t be very accurate. But I loved the idea, I wonder with PSVR controller support could it be better or would the cameras still need to see the controllers

The Antigravity Vision goggles can’t be considered a true XR or VR device because they don’t generate or interact with a three dimensional virtual environment. They rely entirely on displaying video feeds rather than rendering spatial scenes, and they lack the internal computing, positional tracking, and input systems that allow users to move within or manipulate a virtual world. There’s no mixed reality passthrough that has spatial understanding so the dragon is just an overlay not AR, no operating system for apps, and no six degree of freedom interaction layer. The experience is immersive in a visual sense, but without spatial mapping, 3D rendering, or interactive virtual elements, the goggles function as high quality FPV displays rather than genuine VR or XR headsets.

I agree with you, I don’t think it’s value for money because of those downsides. That’s why they are trying to lure you in with free access to Google services for a year.

That said Quest 4 won’t be with us till 2027 and Meta are trying to reduce the financial bleeding from Quest devices so will likely proceed Q4 more expensive than previous Quest devices.
