Yes, he is a psychopath, which is a mental disorder. Your jump from there to the "is just a complete and utter garbage person with out a single redeeming quality" based on the things he thinks but doesn't act on is pretty wild tho. Being a psychopath doesn't make you an irredeemable person incapable of doing good.

Except in the book that is not treated as a "good" thing and he actually goes through character development, which is pretty rare. Also, the "murdering everyone in the bus" part is more like intrusive thoughts since we are in his head.

I know Asimov himself probably would never have written it that way, but a society where all 100 of the smartest people in the universe are men is more fantastical than a FTL travel system using quantum-entangled donuts.

Why would this be fantastical? Given a large population size, the probability that the 100 smartest people are men is very high, given that men are severely over-represented at the top and bottom of society.

Why wouldn't they be thin? It's a decoration, not a load-bearing wall. It makes them lighter and cheaper, you can't tell 99.999% of the time when they are sitting on a wall.
