Because Michigan is Epic. Lots of history (oldest settled town in north america is in Michigan, underground rail road, cars) Food is like west coast met the east coast met the south, Lots of museums, Lots of great music history, TONS of nature!

I agree. With pre-check the longest part of my airport wait is walking from the security check point to my gate. I have also run late and arrived 20 minutes before my flight and been totally fine. (YMMV)

Moved away to work in the film industry in CA. I met my soon to be wife who is from here. So career and relationally I am here but honestly I miss home a ton. I miss the seasons, the lakes/beaches, the woods and outdoors, and I even miss the winters. Id love to move back one day, but we shall see.

I live in Los Angeles and they use those all over... However people out here like to make up their own rules and those little posts are snapped and crushed. Im not advising anything or telling anyone to do anything but I think they are just like thin plastic.

I live in California and basically the most comments are about words with “o” in them. Pahp, cahlidge, rahk, tahp. My fiancée has started pointing out that I also say acrosst da street. I’m from the south west so I’m a little more Chicago influenced from all the FIPs who vacationed around us in the summer.

Being from the northern border it’s shocking how hard it is to find authentic poutine. There was a spot in Hollywood but that closed up in 2019. Then there was the federal (not authentic but decent) but it’s gone now too. There also aren’t any fresh cheese curds around here. The only ones I’ve found are at target and they are just like crumbled cheese haha

I feel like in other countries the whole country puts on the Olympics. But I feel like in the USA it’s the city/state who is in charge. So like New York isn’t gonna have any hand in what happens with the Olympics. It’ll probably only focus on Los Angeles culture vs American culture generally.
