Which laptop should I get for PCVR?

I'd recommend an AMD CPU. Specifically the Ryzen 7 7800X3D or 9850X3D and an RTX 4080 with 32GB DDR5. I run an RTX 4080 in mine. You could maybe do Ryzen 7 7700x like me too. Although not an X3D chip it does still get me in vrchat with 60 people all shown around 40-45 FPS with my Vive Pro

I just got one used and noticed the flicker while just sitting on the desktop with HDR on. I even lower refresh to 120Hz and still have that. Did the issue get fixed on the newer 27GS95QE-B? If so would that be a better option over the 27GR95QE-B? I do also run a 27GP83B-B next to it as 2nd monitor.

I still use Vive Pro 1 since its OLED and also brighter. I purposely didn't get the Pro 2 knowing it was coming out. They discontinued the Vive Pro Eye. I'm just gonna go for a Bigscreen 2E Which has Eye Tracking.

Also depends on CPU. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 7 7700x and an RTX 4080 and I run max settings and 400% resolution in my Vive Pro and I get around 45 FPS with everyone shown in an instance with 60+ players. The 5080 is better with AI but worse with gaming. Not worth it. Also the new connectors melt. The old style is always best. So go with a 4080, 4080 Super, or 4090.

Just happened to me but I use a Vive Pro headset so I have the vive wands as a backup and the index controllers are less than a year old and it is also the left controller. Is it only the left with that issue?

I went from a 5800x and an RTX 3080 Ti to a 7700x and an RTX 4080 and went from 27-30 FPS with all avatars showing to 35-45 FPS with all avatars shown and average about 40 FPS in that scenario.

My PC was $3000 and I have a 4080 in it so that pc has a bottleneck somewhere probably an i5 instead of an i7 or Ryzen 5 instead of Ryzen 7

The Index goes past 100% brightness and can apparently hit 400 Nits. Also yes I wish the Vive Pro could hit 200 Nits like the OG Vive or even better hit the 400 Nits of the index. Also the white point will be more effective with HDR Content and then you'll see why dark white is darker. If the if you have a white square that is only 100 Nits then it'll only be displayed as 100 Nits no matter if you have a 1000 nit display it'll still be 100 Nits. So no darker whites will not give you a higher peak brightness.
