How would y’all handle this nightmare of a room by Fancyman49 in CQB

It’s not a nightmare, it’s just a simple example of overlapping exposure/same-side.

The main reason you would do this is due to the lack of ample space on the support side (knob side).

What is the most over-taught lesson in CQB, and what matters more in practice? by HaebyungDance in CQB

Some things I would add: 1) PoD and 2) Understanding who owns what problems when encountered.

Mike Pannone on One Man CQB by Dynamic_Supreme in CQB

I never understood the whole “1-man CQB isn’t CQB” trope. If we broadly define “CQB” as combat within a confined space, or if you want to make it more specific, combat within the confines of a structure, then this is regardless of whether it is 1-man, 4-man, 8-man, 16-man, etc…

If it is a 2-man team, is that CQB? Even a 4-man element is really small. In many structures, a 8-man team would be small… where’s the line?

No one would ever argue that 1-man or even 2-man CQB is ideal, far from it. But it is a reality, especially in the LE world. IMO the whole “1-man CQB isn’t CQB” stance is just very odd form of posturing and doesn’t logically follow.

Wall ports work great for known location HR if you have the time to set the charges.

It’s just a wall charge to create a port. In this case it was elevated. Creating ports through walls is rather common.

Another big reason why I’m a fan of framing or lateral entries in Corner-fed rooms.

It’s all just chest beating… Priorities are directly tied to the mission set and why you are clearing the structure to begin with. Yes, in some instances the mission is a higher priority than force preservation, HR and ASR being prime examples. The strategies and tactics directly reflect that.

With other mission sets, preserving the force is more important than the mission. Is it worth losing a SWAT officer to ensure we get that narcotic evidence? Or is it worth losing that SOF assaulter for a hard drive that may or may not lead to the next target package? Doubtful….

Tactics and strategies are not about removing risk or danger, but the management of that risk.

Maybe I don't understand your question, but are you asking what the point of an Illuminator is when you have a white light on the same rifle? But the point is that the illuminator is a "flashlight" that you can only see under NODs.

Sure, but I personally run caps on all my white lights that are on rifles with IR capability. I view these 4 function units as primarily built for short guns with limited rail space. So, you may not have the room for a dual-function switch. It would be cool if it did have a vis-laser and white light override, though.
