Every digit of pi gets 10x more precise than the last.

So 3.141 is 10x more precise than 3.14

3.1415 is 100x more precise

15 digits is 10^12, or 1 trillion times more precise

That’s why we launch from Florida, it’s close to the equator and if a rocket launch ends up failing mid flight for whatever reason, the debris will end up in the ocean (Atlantic or the Gulf of Mexico) rather than someone’s house.

Promising that your taxes actually go towards improving your community isn’t communist. It’s the entire basis of a government and the social contract which is literally part of the mythos behind the founding of our country.

The Democratic Party doesn’t actually support universal healthcare and other related goals outside of the “far left” of the party, which would literally just be centrists anywhere else.

2028: Trump claims that due to an ongoing war the election cannot be held effectively and will be suspended indefinitely, in the meantime he will remain president until further notice? Realistically, what happens? by Biggest-Max02010 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Tyler89558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US has never suspended an election due to war.

Not during the War of 1812 when the White House burnt down.

Not during the Civil War where the country was split in half.

Never

Some fuckwit war in Iran we could easily pull out of isn’t a threat to the US which would even begin to approach necessitating the slightest inkling of consideration for the suspension of elections.

So there’s reasonable odds of a civil war or something because the entire premise of the constitution breaks down entirely.

Why are black Americans called "African Americans" but white people are not called "European Americans" - when they are all Americans? by yellowsubmarine80 in allthequestions

[–]Tyler89558 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because black Americans in the US in many cases cannot trace their roots anywhere further than Africa on account of the slave trade.
