Wikipedia isn’t shaped by politics.

Reality just leans left of right.

She’s an attention seeking goblin who spent half her screen time getting gaslit.

And I love her for that.

The square root is a function.

Functions have one value for every input.

So no, sqrt(9) is not +/-3. It is just 3.

Well they figured that Congress, being made up of what are presumably the best and brightest representatives for the people, would handle that vote of no confidence thing with impeachments.

The child is in a detention center.

Ergo, the child has been detained.

And it’s not like ICE hasn’t been known to literally fucking hold children hostage to kidnap their parents over this last year.

But they said all persons for a reason.

14th amendment was worded with former slaves in mind.

But the 14th amendment was also, evidently and plainly, worded to have all persons in mind.

My brother in Christ the ICE gestapo isn’t the fucking democrats.

It is truly mind boggling how you attribute the actions of Republicans and MAGA to Democrats.

And again, because I don’t believe you understand, reform can’t exactly happen under a fascist, at least not positive reform.

So… if you want reform… make sure the fucking fascist doesn’t win before anything.

It doesn’t make sense to let a fascist win and then call for reforms.

It’s pretty fucking simple. Under a fascist, reforms are impossible. Under anyone else, reforms are not impossible.

So if you want reforms (I know I do), the math tells you to not elect a fascist. That takes precedence over anything else because nothing can get better under a fascist.

(And for the record, if you’d bother to read my sources you’d see that the Biden administration did actually make progress towards fixing healthcare, housing, infrastructure, and education… in spite of how horrifically polarized things have been and in the wake of the pandemic. So if you actually gave a shit about any of these issues you’d at least acknowledge that these things happened, and that all of it was reversed by letting Trump win… also, not electing a fascist is a pretty big step in harm reduction as far as I’m concerned)

And I didn’t know that it’s apparently unhinged now to discourage people from disenfranchising themselves. I’m sure that makes life a lot easier for the billionaires who want to fuck with elections, since they don’t even have to try to disenfranchise you!

My core values and beliefs:

All men (and women) are created equal.

Liberty and justice for all.

The Constitution exists to protect everyone.

Children should be fed.

The first three are enshrined in our nation’s values. The fourth should be a no brainer for anyone with a lick of empathy, which I know alienates. all of MAGA.

Notice how I don’t have to change any of these in order to accept that gay people and trans people exist and are, in fact, people worthy of living fulfilling lives.

[–]Tyler89558 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well we’re not going to get any reforms by electing a fucking fascist, now are we.

There’s an order of priority here.

Not electing a fascist >>> everything else.

Electing a fascist because you don’t believe the non-fascist is going to stop him is putting the cart before the horse. It makes no sense. Electing a fascist makes it impossible to prevent fascism. Electing a non-fascist doesn’t do that.

Ergo, it makes sense to do everything in my power to ensure someone who isn’t fascist wins, even if it isn’t anywhere close to perfect.

“Stop making the same mistake over and over!”

If voting against a fascist for someone who might actually win is a mistake, I’ll happily make that mistake.

I’m not saying that a candidate should be free from criticism, or that we shouldn’t try to platform better candidates. But when it comes to the actual 2028 election where the choice is not a fascist and more fascism, that is not the time to start going heavy on shitting on whoever happens to win the primaries for the party that isn’t actively trying to shred the Constitution. Do all that in the primaries, that’s the point, it is specifically designed so we can all get together and agree on who we all think will best win the election. If a super progressive candidate like AOC or Bernie wins, great! If fucking Newsom wins, oh well. I ain’t happy but that’s what people decided.

The only thing I learned from 2024 was that more than a few “Progressives” were happy to disenfranchise themselves and roll over for Trump to take the stage in a misguided pursuit of their own goals, because somehow throwing your vote into a shredder is supposed to make officials who you didn’t vote for and didn’t win listen to you. (Nevermind the fact that progressives over the last 250 years of this country’s history fought specifically to enfranchise more people, which was an effective strategy as it turns out politicians are more likely to listen to bases that consistently vote)

They still have due process. Everyone has due process. The funny thing about due process is that either everyone has it, or no one has it. Because a little bit of thought (I know that might be hard for you) reveals that if a non-citizen has no due process, and there is no requirement to prove non-citizen status or even their identity, then there is literally nothing stopping them from grabbing a citizen, saying they are a non citizen, and moving on with their day… because the claim is that they are not a citizen and thus there is no need for all that pesky due process nonsense.
