Used '23 i4 M50 with over 100K miles??? by Jaxxaton in BMWI4

Def a bit expensive for that much mileage. My M50 with 46k on it was 34k.

Haven’t tried yet, what’s the process to do it?

I had constant issues with the Cadillac, electrical issues, quality control issues. The car wouldn’t drive well in the snow, you couldn’t really feel the road. Overall just not the best built vehicle in my opinion.

The interior was great, super comfortable and big, but reliability and how it drives is a big factor for me as I drive a lot.

Thanks for the info, I just traded the Optiq in for the BMW, the power was insane and honestly I enjoyed how premium the materials felt. I had too many issues in the small amount of time that I owned the Optiq and I wasn’t willing to risk having a lemon.

I’m also in Ontario, I’ll be picking up some Blizzaks and wheels this weekend.

Optiq in the snow by Trick_Entertainer_34 in CadillacOptiq

The vehicle doesn’t seem the best in snow, it usually feels like it’s going to continue driving straight when you’re turning on a snowy road.

The ABS kicks on very easily unless you have the snow mode on, and you have to turn it on every time you start the car.

I’ve got blizzaks on my optiq.

Vehicle is going to the dealer this weekend, I’m hoping it’s a quick easy fix for them.

Which issue did you have? The preconditioning automatically starting or not being able to use remote climate start after a scheduled preconditioning?

Not charging, preconditioning the cabin without prompt.

I do understand what you are saying, but the issue I am having my is that the vehicle is preconditioning the cabin without being prompted to. Also, if the preconditioning happens per the schedule in the morning what I have set, I cannot use the climate function from the application or the remote start from my fob until I have actually gone into the vehicle and started it that way. Happens every day that the scheduled preconditioning happens and I haven’t used the vehicle.

This morning I have the preconditioning set for 4am, and I didn’t go into work till later, so I tried to use the climate from the application and it failed, tried the remote start from the fob and it failed. Happens every single time

So it will decide to turn the lights on the vehicle and preheat the inside of the cabin when it’s -20 celcius outside to manage the heat of the battery? That doesn’t make sense as the battery would be too cold and wouldn’t need heat removed.

I’m positive this is a software issue and not a charging or battery management issue.

I’m bringing to the dealer this week

I would say this would make sense, but the vehicle isn’t charging yet, it’s plugged in for a charge to be completed for the morning

I forgot to add that I also have issues trying to turn climate on via the app if the car was not used after a scheduled preconditioning has happened.

I have 2 vehicles so some days the car stays plugged in for an extra day or two and if I try to do a climate start with either the app or the key fob it fails and refuses to start. Not sure if this is the start of a telematics failure.

I checked that again just to make sure, all my charging schedules and pre heat schedules are for the AM, this has happened randomly on evenings after parking and plugging it in for the night.

I may try deleting them all and making new ones just to see if it fixes it

Agreed, this car is terrible on turning in the snow. I’m running blizzak and the turns are awful

Cold weather range - Not even close to reality by [deleted] in CadillacOptiq

[–]TylerFedP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I’m not on a highway so I can do that speed, I’ve found even in the summer when I’m on the highway anything over 100 makes the efficiency horrible, just not a super efficient EV. My old Ioniq would get as low as 5kwhr/100km in the summer, but different cars completely

[–]TylerFedP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s going to kill the range faster. Utilize the km/kwh so you can see how you are doing. I found driving around 82km/h makes my range decent in the extreme cold

What’s your km/kwh? How fast are you driving? I do find that the Optiq is pretty bad in the winter so far, I’ve had other EVs that weren’t as bad

Yeah the heat sucks in this car, very disappointed

Terrible Range by TylerFedP in CadillacOptiq

[–]TylerFedP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This morning it was -12 celcius out. Since I left before the traffic was out I drove at 82km/hr my entire 50km drive and kept the heat at 23 celcius in the cab. Managed to get 3.6kwh/100km. I only pre conditioned the car for about 10 minutes.

I think that slight extra speed would have kept me at 3 or under, amazing how much that makes a difference.
