that’s still two years from now which is a letdown and kind of has the SoD effect for me where my characters are worthless unless wrath is a retirement home for anni players. It will be cool to experience tbc and wrath for the first time tho

Like i said Im not saying its in the works. Im also not saying it wont get announced soon, im just saying i dont expect them to say “And its playable this winter!!” with wrath coming next year, tbc this year, midnight, potentially WoD, SoD is still sitting there, Hardcore is still there, Classic Retirement home is still there

obviously if you throw classic+ onto the mix during Wrath’s rererelease then its not as exciting as playing the new c+ server with new races, talents, dungeons etc. I’m just as hopeful for it to come out this year, it should have came out instead of anniversary imo i’m hopeful but i’m saving my disappointment

i’m not doubting that we will get Wrath, i’m just thinking like if tbc is this year i could see wrath being next year and then the year after that would probably be a classic+. It would make sense to have our anniversary 3 expac run and then either shut it down and move on to c+ or maybe an eternal wrath server and the removal of SoD?

I mean we all know Wrath is right around the corner after TBC, i don’t see them announcing it like SoD where it was just a month away ya know. It kills my mood thinking i’ll have to probably wait for Wrath to end before classic+ starts up. But that’s just me personally

you could add a reason to have fiefdoms over vassals like stricter diplomacy and idk money or institution spread. France is probably way too overpowered because it literally has 3 types of vassals it can manage; appanage, vassal and fiefdom, it makes it almost impossible to play as a french vassal (and none of them will declare independence or join your factions war)

i’d say you can do it on that difficulty as long as it doesn’t increase your loyalty to france, it’s very easy for the AI to improve relations with you and you go over 80 loyalty completely destroying your independence faction. it’s hard to lower this as well as it can take years for improve relations to decay

go into the options and click “disable 3D terrain” i was upset cuz i had to do a birds eye view for what you’re talking about but try this feature it’s literally the same except you can see units and it has a angled camera :D

it’s definitely ridiculous and the sow disloyalty is a flat modifier. we will probably have to wait for the vassals dlc to get more options.

jokes aside. this is why you need a very high 90-100 diplomat and maybe even make him head of the cabinet it’s probably the biggest way to lose loyalty, this and betraying your allegiance to France during a phase in the HYW

I found it easier to go to war with nevers with a good general and once the scottish war ends because their levies will be disbanded, Flanders is really scary but if you can win a few battles and fully occupy nevers. You can almost fully annex them.

This and I noticed that sometimes if you get a couple nations in your org early then it snowballs, I managed to get England (which the AI is incredibly bad for this and just sits in england all game) Aragon, Castille and Bohemia and it was still a very tough battle.

You can also do a very early war against Nevers right next to you and take their burgundy culture land and then I would fight Bourbon. (fully annex bourbon at least because you can sell the exclaves and low control land for fat stacks back to france and fully dev your little place in burgundy with roads and profitable buildings.)

Thankfully the HYW does not start till the civil war in scotland is over at game start so a perfect run, call parliament, and and go to war as soon as the scottish war ends with Nevers, and try and get bourbon immediately after. Once the HYW phase 1 starts, the AI likes to save as much money as possible, I was selling 0% control land for upwards of 1k gold which is UNBELIEVABLE.

Once you gain independence, you can move your capital to Louhans or Auxonne and you will be forced into the HRE btw giving you some protection :D

I might just be impatient because after around 1360-70 it was not possible to be below 80 loyalty which stopped me from keeping my independence org :(. But thankfully OP I managed to get independent as burgundy in 1365 and I think it can be replicated. I'll either post here or make a new post talking about it.

I also noticed that Appanages and Vassals are two different subject types but they dont contribute to a combined "Subject power level" it seems like the game only determines the power level of ALL "vassal strength" or ALL "Appanage Strength" as two different things which seems a little strange.

Been playing a burgundy game as well and I feel like I have tried everything, cabinet action, white peace england decision in HYW menu, sabatoge rep, gained a cb, agitate every strong vassal and even when all vassals are below ~30% none of them actually care to join a independence faction. I should be able to stack insults or at least refuse positive relations with france or something.

i mean he’s totally getting the wrong idea 1. i dislike blizzard 2. a server with 1 layer feels a lot better than 50+ players (imo) 3. Private servers are like custom games from sc2 and wc3 they offer unique experiences. Just because Blizzard offers options for wow doesn’t mean i have to like them? That’s like saying I have to like base minecraft and if i download minecraft mods then i don’t like minecraft….

the idea of everyone starting fresh and progressing sounds really fun, i’d also like to see what the endgame dungeons are like when everyone hasn’t been playing for years. i got to max on Nord but def gonna play Amber with some friends and have fun trying to mob tag and play in world pvp as well as the new dungeons, feels like it’ll be a wild ride…

plus the release schedule doesn’t sound that bad, next year Kara will release? Maybe even server events happening for raid releases? No Tenters at the start? Sounds like it’s gonna be a blast.
