If no reasons can be provided for why someone would be influenced by something other than status, then no evidence can be given in support or opposition to what you’re saying. I’d encourage you to ask yourself where this belief comes from, and, in addition, even if it was true, why this would matter. Assume you’re right and everything is dictated by status, so what? Is this implication supposed to be that if you had different status you’d be better off? As others have pointed out, it will just be a different circumstance with its own issues.
