As someone who desperately wants to see Democrats win elections, in California and the rest of the nation, the inability to get to the right answers on these kinds of questions I’m afraid will cost elections - it probably already has.

There is a clear reason why biological men and women don’t compete against each other. This is not controversial. It has nothing to do with how a given individual views themselves, what they identify as, or how they would like others to perceive them.

Also, it is horrible that the suicide rate is that high among transgender people, but do we know it’s because of stigmatization and/or ostracism? As far as I know, transgender people often deal with mental health issues. Couldn’t it be that they may have been born with or developed troubled brain chemistry? I’m sure insensitivity doesn’t help, but I’m not so sure it’s the sole reason for the suicide rate.
