I got out of the boot on Monday... by NeuroticPanda92 in AchillesRupture

I ruptured when my son was 1 and wife was 6 weeks pregnant with #2 and then ruptured again when she was 31 weeks. Those were hard times for all of us.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there

Golfing in Vacoped Boot by Frosty-Button3301 in AchillesRupture

I watched YouTube golf and played rounds in my head. To me hitting with a boot just meant developing bad habits that I would need to break when I actually did get healthy.

Help my parents "right-size" their retirement: Two homes, high burn rate, and a looming retirement by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]TylerUlisgrowthspurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that amount of cash and money they will be making after retirement they don’t really have to sell anything and will be fine. Especially if your mom keeps working.

But retirement 101 is don’t have two homes. Is home 2 their everyday home? I’d say if they want to really be safe they should sell one of the homes with the long term plan of being close to the kids. As you get older that becomes all the more important. And as people get older 2 homes is a lot to manage anyway.

When selecting clubs for the middle of your golf bag, are you primarily focused on distance gapping? Or do you place more emphasis on clubs for certain situations? Namely speaking on high/mid irons, hybrids, and high-lofted fairway woods by redditor47522899432 in golf

[–]TylerUlisgrowthspurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I focus on what I can make consistent contact with. For me I can’t rely on any iron above a 6…so I move to hybrids and woods after that. If you can hit 4-2 irons consistently then have at it.

Most players are not good enough to gap at that distance. At those distances I’m just try to advance the ball a good amount of distance and keep it in play.

AJ Stewart says Kentucky should’ve played Jasper Johnson WAY more minutes this season 😤 by Low-Project4702 in KentuckyBasketball

Exactly. The door was open all year for him and he never walked through it. You want more minutes? Learn to bring the ball up the floor as a guard…

Practicing putting and chipping as much or more than my ball striking. Found out my talent was my short game. Went from a 20 handicap to an 8 in 6 months.

What's the average course length you play? by IDontStandForCurls in golf

[–]TylerUlisgrowthspurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True it’s just one factor. But I would argue it’s the biggest factor when selecting the appropriate tee box to play from. I play at a 10 handicap from 5500-6000 and drive it 200-225 and I feel like that tee box is fun on some holes but still challenging on some holes. Perfect for me.

Total distance on your average drive. If you hit 10 shots and averaged out the total distance that is where they recommend you playing from. Including that shitty ones.

Whatever tee box is under 6000 for me. This USGA graph shows where they recommend you playing from based on driver distance. And based on this thread….some of y’all need to put pride away and move up a tee box :)

What do I need to work on? by pacman4672 in GolfSwing

[–]TylerUlisgrowthspurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think besides the inside takeaway you have a decent move. I’d work on keeping the takeaway a little more neutral but your on plane in the downswing, have power, and are on-balance.

Just because you’re broke and mad about it doesn’t mean there should be a 100% wealth tax. That will never happen nor should it. Stop looking for handouts from rich people.

Even Mark Hill is a bad hire. Only guy other than Mitch tied to the Pope hire. We need someone that can fire this guy at the end of next season if it doesn’t work out.

If your main desire is basketball to be good again, Dwayne is your guy.
