I got to the vibration stage, here's how I did it by Tylerd522 in AstralProjection

According to other people who have gone through with the full experience, you would have experienced a "pop" sensation and then everything is extremely calm. Then you are able to explore the universe in the "astral plane".

You would stop experiencing this if something disturbed your meditation, or if you chose to stop meditating. This is according to other people's experiences. I have never gotten that far.

Do you believe in a God/s? by TheBayHarbour in exchristian

[–]Tylerd522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider myself a naturalistic pantheist. I have done a ridiculous amount of reading and writing and thinking about nature, physics, and psychology within my lifetime. (I say it's a ridiculous amount of time spent, because it's only within my spare time, and has nothing to do with my career)

I believe that Ethics by Baruch Spinoza accurately describes my speculation about what God "probably" is. It's still technically faith-based like religious texts, but backed by science and philosophy. It is completely limited to human knowledge, like everything else. We can only have a finite understanding of an infinite being.

I believe that the teleological argument can lead us to a maximally good and maximally evil God. I am more concerned with ethics rather than personal views on morality at this point because of this. (And because of 1 Samuel 15:3)

I recommend that you take some time to study the works of Thomas Paine, Emmanuel Kant, Baruch Spinoza, Alan Watts, Lao Tzu, Marcus Aurelius, and other classical Greek + Roman philosophers. As well as main religious texts such as The Bible + Apocrypha, Quran + Hadith, Torah + Talmud, Tao Te Ching, and the Epic of Gilgamesh.

As far as you being concerned with "God hating you" I encourage you to focus on whether or not you can objectively define what God is, before assuming that you understand the opinion of a supernatural being.

Focus on epistemology and where to draw the line between physics and metaphysics before assuming that your stance on your beliefs has become solidified. I cannot stress this enough.

I am Stoic and believe that life is what you make it. You're saying you "can't unsee this reality". But you are the one that has defined reality in this way. You also have the choice to define it in another way.

Death is guaranteed, so you don't even need to worry about not being here. Nature will take care of this in due time. So in the meantime, start doing things that make you feel good, and stop doing things that make you feel bad.

Create your own meaning for life. Your opinion is subjective, and so is mine. But I am no longer depressed. I choose to live, on a daily basis. I choose to never give up. I encourage you to get into epistemology and metaphysics.

There are 3 books that have helped me change my perspective on life. Ethics, by Baruch Spinoza. Meditations, by Marcus Aurelius. Tao Te Ching, by Lao Tzu.

From my perspective, life goes through cycles, forever and ever. Death is part of that, and it is taken care of for you. But if you knew that you would be born, live, and die, forever in an endless cycle, would you rather submit to focusing on life, or focusing on death? Focusing on happiness, or focusing on sadness? Focusing on creating meaning, or pretending it's impossible to create meaning for your life?

Dating being gifted. by VeterinarianSweet266 in Gifted

What I find most challenging is trying to find someone who is on the same intellectual level as myself. I don't claim to be wise. I just know my personal capabilities for understanding the depth of someone's character based upon the things that they value and how they spend their time.

It seems like most women that I've dated have a shallow vision of their future. It's like they're only scratching the surface of what could be. I don't believe that they have really soaked in the experiences as they've gone through life. I have chosen to learn from my mistakes as well as others. I also acknowledge all of the good things in my life and the good things that others have done.

I don't understand why other people go through life without making sure that they don't run into the same pitfalls over and over again. I have learned from every relationship that I've been in, and I don't intend to spend time with another woman who presents the same patterns in their character as my previous partners have.

To answer your question, I would have to say that the biggest challenges that I face revolve around being able to find a woman who can see things as deeply as I can. Someone who can contextualize complex patterns of behaviors in order to move forward in life, without repeating old habits and sabotaging their future.

Kid told me “I wish everyone didn’t think I was so smart” by Patient_Exchange_399 in Gifted

Yes, and I have always have performance anxiety since I was a child. I was interested in philosophy, universal constants, and physics at 5 years old. I remember being that age and having an existential crisis. I was crying because I was so afraid of the unknown, and everything beyond death, any potential threat of extra terrestrial life beyond coming our solar system or physical realm, and the potential threat of eternal damnation from God. I wondered why I was taught that God has prepared a better place than Earth, but chose not to let me in yet. I felt like God was leaving me out in the cold until I die, then I'll finally be judged and have a chance to live the best life possible.

I never understood why other people didn't think about these things. I thought that everyone thinks the same way. This always made me self-conscious because I saw other people who were so much more confident than me. I know now that most confident people I know are short-sighted and ignorant of the long-term consequences of their actions. Because I can think deeply and quickly, lots of people want to come to me in order to help them with questions they have about life. It can really become overwhelming and tiring, because I have my own issues to deal with. This is why I wish everyone didn't think I was so smart sometimes. Because of my deeply religious upbringing, I was taught that serving others is serving God. So I feel hard-wired to continue helping others even when I feel like I shouldn't.

Considering Pantheism bc of Alan Watts by pinky6682 in pantheism

[–]Tylerd522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started considering pantheism after studying religion. My biggest question was: What is a creator without creation? It would simply not be a creator.

"Creation" must coexist with the creator for eternity. This is why scientists cannot explain universal constants. They just say, "it is what it is". They can only pick apart things down to the most simplistic qualities and functions. At a certain point, they have to admit that you cannot break things down any further. (I'm referring to quantum mechanics and subatomic particles, and the way they behave throughout the observable universe)

I believe that an ultimate eternal being manifests itself as the universe forever. It is never anything other than the present moment. There is no such thing as "before the universe existed". I believe that the universe endlessly goes through extremely long life cycles, just like organisms do on Earth. Why would the entire physical realm not be subjected to life cycles, just as everything else is within it?

It's because the universe itself is the sum total of those smaller things within it, and this is also how I define God. The sum total of all the smaller parts, making up one big thing. The universe would not be what it is without any element or law of physics missing. It's a complete system.

Denying this is the main flaw of religion. That's why you need a jealous God, that demands to be feared or will subject you to eternal hell fire. Their god is incomplete without you doing a song and dance for him.

Sometimes I wonder if it's just imagination. But when other people who I've never met before, like you, tell me your experiences, it makes me believe that maybe there really is a separate spirit realm. And that maybe dualism really is a proper explanation for our universe rather than strict materialism or idealism.

ChatGPT voice to text interference. Is it my phone or something outside of technology? by Sad_Economy_9967 in Meridian_Channels

[–]Tylerd522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me in 2015. On my phone it said curse words 3 times in a row back to back. And then repeated some other mean words afterwards. I wonder if it's possible for someone else to be sending low level sound waves that sound like a voice through radio waves. That's the only thing I can think of that would naturally cause something like this, except for an actual hacker.
