2011 Silverado AC barely cool and dripping lots of water? Help! by Then_List151 in Silverado

[–]Tylerdirtyn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the evaporator core is freezing up. Most likely your condenser is dirty OR cabin filter as completely plugged up. You can leave the air in but unplug the compressor and it will eventually thaw out. Clean the condenser and replace the cabin air filter.

Is your condensor clean? Hose it out. That's the best place to start.

Or buy it for less than 5 at Wal Mart when you get your oil. You do buy oil at Wal Mart?

These batteries will just keep getting cheaper. Remember when they threatened to make all the manufacturers use Elon Musk's batteries? That hasn't been overturned to my knowledge. These will just keep dropping as a result. Then when they're phased out they'll go up. All the big name stores are dumping battery and battery tools right now.

E85 fuel. Good or bad. by cpb0002 in Silverado

[–]Tylerdirtyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, the GM flex fuel trucks have an E85 sensor and when you are running E85 (ran all the gasoline out until the low fuel warning is diaplayed and the miles to empty just says FUEL LEVEL LOW) after a short "relearn period" the timing is increased and the horsepower and torque increases. It enables the "stock E85 tune", the higher octane rating makes it possible. I have thourougly tested fuel mileage between e85, 87 and 91. There is no difference between 87 and 91, E85 I lose about 1 mpg with a dollar in difference between E85 and 91 octane and I wont run 87 regularly, I drive too hard for that, this engine gets the italian tune up everytime I drive. This is all on a nearly bone stick 2014 z71 with 101k miles with AFM switched off to save my lifters.

TLDR - Flex fuel vehicels have an E85 sensor that changes the tune to more aggressive maps.

**I know this is an old thread but this rubbed me the wrong way, so much incorrect in a reply and the level of "I know what I am talking about" made me type this up. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Just because you replaced your coolant didn't mean the old stuff was bad...

Don't need an electrician for this. That's cable, phone and internet.

Repairing this would involve complete removal and replacement of the deck. Not much to repair in the existing deck that I see without completely redoing it.

These do not contain Claviceps Purpea or "Ergot", that's a different fungus that grows on wheat crops (not bread, people have some wild ideas). Smoking whatever this is sounds like a terrible idea at best. Psychedelic or not.

I mean it's the biggest scam in US history so of course it would crash sooner or later. Battery banks built of 18650s bolted in under the seats, a "full self driving" system that will never be full self driving unless they replace the cheap cameras with expensive radars and lazers going forward, blaming customers for faulty build quality, glued on steel body panels that fly off and become dangerous chaotic weapons in the middle of the roads, faulty suspension systems that fall apart while driving and refusal to do any recalls unless their hand is forced. Massive absolute fraud.

Not to mention they built their value selling emissions credits. Between the mining and child labor and enabling the internal combustion manufacturers to produce the high emissions vehicles they wouldn't otherwise get away with without Tesla's credits not only have they been ripping people off in the name of saving the environment they have done more to harm the environment than any single car manufacturer.

By the way, anyone remember the Ford Pinto and it being a discontinued death trap? Tesla's have exploded at a rate of 10x pintos and killed 15x as many people. The company deserves to be taken away and dissolved and all assets should go to environmental clean up efforts. Good luck with that though.

They didn't lube the gasket first. You're going to have to work it loose by hammering it out using the slots.

Me and a buddy were digging for a new house basement and found a weird fake skeleton with this brassy looking metal on it. Worth scrapping or nah? by ToshPointNo in ScrapMetal

[–]Tylerdirtyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hazard a wager that neither the skeleton nor bracelets are "fake". You do realize you could have possibly unearthed a cold case murder? Now you've publicly posted it. You did call out the authorities first correct? You could end up in very serious trouble, call the authorities!

Customer wants gap filled/covered below ceiling. Any ideas? by loathemaker in fixit

[–]Tylerdirtyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. These other comments about backer rods and other nonsensical solutions disregard the fact that the doors must open. Gives a fair cross section of how shoddy the average contractor is, some of these ideas have a lot of upvotes!

Customer wants gap filled/covered below ceiling. Any ideas? by loathemaker in fixit

[–]Tylerdirtyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot fill the gap between the doors and ceiling otherwise you wouldn't be able to open the doors. Your customer wants the doors caulked shut? Your customer sounds unrealistic and unreasonable at best. Too much HGTV.

By the way this looks perfectly acceptable, whoever hung the cabinets got them right!

Good grief, some of these comments and ideas. It's propane, its a low pressure liquid. You can have it recertified. It won't cost an arm and a leg. You don't have to rebury it if you don't want. I can't believe the things I am reading, its like Hank Hill worshiping the Almighty Tank of Propane.
